Clean, free and constant energy is here!

lol teki.

Is it just me or does anyone else love reading the big outlandish statements in thread titles and then expecting to see;

Bump!

This was nearly a year ago and I've heard nothing else about it, anyone know of anything being done with it? Or were we right to be skeptical?

You can't be serious, it violates the conservation of energy and the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

I was wondering if anyone had tried to build one of these things and debunk it or anything, I've heard nothing about it at all, nothing good or bad. I am serious. I'm sure it wouldn't work, but I was expecting somewhere someone would have given it a go and shown that the power just came from the battery or whatever.

Yes, it went into production there six months ago and they have already started trials in some areas. Mine was one of the first test sites and we haven't had to pay a single electricity bill since, nor will we ever have to again. It's absolutely fantastic!

This has been covered on every news paper and channel in existence, have you been living in a cave for the last year?

My home has constant free energy, the children in the basement turn the big wheel for nothing!

A colleague of mine's family (slightly tenuous I know) is working on this project for Steorn so I can confirm (:p) that the project is not a hoax etc... however, this does not mean they have actually had any breakthroughs... they're just 'working' on them! :p

Good god man, basic intuition says it can't work. Heck, Leonardo Da Vinci knew it's an impossibility and he had far few machines around for him to realise this.

I know, see my post from 2009:

In before nothing actually comes from this.

I was more interested in any independent tests done which shown where the claims fell apart and how they managed to pull off their publicity stunts which supposedly demonstrated it working. The reaction here was negative but I expected someone somewhere would put one together and test it by themselves, maybe on a technology show or magazine or something.

I wasn't expecting this to be the solution to all our energy needs, I was just expecting someone to show it won't work, but it looks like nobody has done anything more than going "thermodynamics, lol" and leaving it at that.

Apparently that means I believe in all this just because I was interesting in knowing what actually went on.

Then so must the big bang or the fact energy exists at all, unless energy has always existed, so its really a choice between an infinite universe or free energy being possible, what's more likely?

If Steorn was really onto something they'd have all been assassinated by the yanks ages ago just like the cold-fusion scientists.
Inventing alternative energy sources to oil is not in ones interest of self-presevation.

I believe the drill and the winch used to save the miners was powered by this system.

Why are these "inventions" always so dissapointing? Steorn appear with these grand claims wich everyone laughs at, but then no one ever gets a chance to prove them conclusively wrong. It's damn irritating.

Somebody will be telling me that Cold-Fusion works soon......and theres a pig in the sky....

Fusion cold enough to be useful (i.e. with a higher energy output than energy input) is theoretically possible without fundamentally changing the universe.

This isn't.

Does anyone else feel like slapping themselves with a wet kipper in despair at the fact that in the UK in 2010 there are still people who believe that magic energy-making machines work? And then slap themselves again when they find out that some people not only believe the machines work but that the secret cabal that controls everything suppresses all mention of them everywhere in the world?

A ludicrous conspiracy theory coupled with something even worse than a belief in perpetual motion machines (they just move forever - this is claimed to allow you to extract energy from it forever).

Even True Believers in a religion would have second thoughts if it repeatedly promised miracles and produced nothing. So why does anyone continue to believe this babble?

Please tell me that you're joking.
