Suggestions for amd coolers....

Well, looking at the depth of your case, it should probably fit the same as mine. You would need to check if your top mounted psu will not block it. Or else, something similar to my cooler but a bit smaller. The main thing is, I'm confident you can fit a good cooler facing in the same orientation as mine.

That has been really helpful mate, but that's the one thing which has been puzzling me is the old psu as it's directly above. I am thinking of going down the route of a barham.

If you get anything with CoolIT on it im not fitting it for you :)
Lol well if you lived closer than 4 hours away i'd be up there like a shot

just out of curiousty do any of you know if this will be able to orientate and feed the air through the back ? Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler

im surprised nobody has suggested acrtic freezer 64 rev 2.

it uses stock mounting bracket = no mobo removal

is cheap as chips and pretty effective

But can that cooler moved 90 degrees so it is feeding hot air through the back of the case and not out of the top? That's my issue

Well chaps i am thinking now of purchasing the Thermalright Venomous X RT CPU Cooler, i think this might be the boyo!

Nice. You cant go wrong with thermalright. I've just checked out the Venomous X RT.
It's pretty much identical to the ultra 120, with same dimensions, length 127mm x width 63mm x height 160mm. One source reckons the X RT beat the ultra 120 by 4c on whatever testbed they used.

Well, you just need to measure up inside your case to see if it will fit.

The only thing which is making me hesitant though merlin it just seems a bit overkill don't you think? and the cheapest i can find is on beep and inc delivery it's 65 quid which a lot just for a cpu cooler. Unfortunately overclockers doesn't sell it. Do you know a slightly smaller alternative model which you know will work also? Thanks mate

airrunner, I would quickly edit your post before a mod sees it. No advertising allowed of other etailers. ;)

I'm not sure which ones are smaller that would fit. Have you measured up yet to see if it will go? It's not really overkill when you see what kind of temps you can get from these thermalright beasts. They don't look quite as big anyway once fitted into the case, it looks bigger just towering over a motherboard out of its case.

Thanks for that;)

Right i see, i think my problem is being a tight arse at the moment as im going to purchase a hannsg 28" next Monday so it's stacking up. But i was fortunate in that my 550 had unlocked the other two cores also so im keen to get it running on full load. Decisions decisions haha

I may want to make note that this will be my first time to install a cpu cooler, so the more user friendly and straight forward would be ideal :) The computer i purchase was a pre built from overclockers see. Sorry to be difficult :(

the first cpu cooler i installed was the h50 and it was so easy!
