UFC 120: Bisping vs Akiyama **SPOILERS**

Expo today was AWESOME!!! :D

Sat in on the Q&A's for Bruce Buffer followed by Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg, they were all great. Rogan is hilarious.
Saw some great guys there too. Dan Miragliotta (sp?), Steffan Bonnar, got to see Jon Jones giving demonstrations.
The Q&A with Dana White was a bit disappointing, not through any fault of his at all, but because people had the opportunity to speak to an incredibly important and knowledgeable guy about the business, MMA as a whole, where the UFC is going or any fight or fighter, but instead most people just took the opportunity to try and get something free out of him. Was a shame and pretty rude :(
He was a gent and gave a lot of stuff away though.
Weigh ins were cool, Hardy and Bisping both had good stare downs following the the scales, both seem up for it. Bisping looks dead cut, hope he's not too trashed from making weight. Did notice he was drinking from the second he stepped off the scale....

Couple of pics....

Me looking like I haven't eaten in a year with the great man himself :D

Predictions for tomorrow?....

Hathaway, first round knock out.

Hardy, second round knock out, but don't be suprised to see him take it to the ground just to silence his critics. May go to a ground and pound victory. Still Hardy, but who knows when that'll happen. If he tries to go to ground and isn't comfortable he'll get straight back to standing, he'll control the location and pace of that fight, no doubt.

Bisping. Think this bad boy might go the distance. If it does, Bisping will win on points, Sexyama will tire quickly and wont do enough to score the rounds in his favour. He's a beast to finish though and can see him hanging in there.
However, I'm going to cross my fingers for a second round ground and pound victory for Bisping.

Lets see how poor my predictions are come tomorrow night!!

Getting seriously excited now, not been to a live UFC before. Woop!!

Nice pic dont get better then the hall of famer Randy !

I was thinking of doing a holiday and trying too go to this ufc but the card does bore me, Only thing is surely this ufc event cant be as bad as Frank Mirs ! Irony is that card was good but just turned into a bit of a borefest, its like my comment on my previous ufc thread where fighters are more concerned and play it safe to win....Bisping defines this he will either get knocked out inbetween rounds or fight and go the distance to win on points, its the reason why hes not interesting or not in line for any title shots.

I agree anyhow am looking more forward to the next ufc events obviously brocktober next saturday, and too see if Rampage can beat Machida thats a fight gotta see :)

Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama - Unanimous decision
Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit - Gonna be a mess, fotn for sure, decision win
John Hathaway vs. Mike Pyle - Going for the underdog here, I believe his BJJ will trap Hathaway ala Fedor/Werdum Submission win
Cheick Kongo vs. Travis Browne - KO
James Wilks vs. Claude Patrick - A close decision I fear, but hopefully Wilks will actually fight like his career depends on it, which it really does !

Bisping vs Akiyama - Bisping via tappy tap strike and move, just like he did to Leben. If Akiyama would, you know, actually use his Judo it might be more interesting than that, but I cant see that happening.

Hardy vs Conduit - Depends on the Conduit that shows up, GSP gave all of Greg Jacksons camp the lessons in beating Hardy, and Conduit may well attempt to follow that formula. On the feet, I think Hardy edges it due to being down right indestrutable.

Hathaway vs Pyle - Hathaway is tailor made to beat Pyle, and I see this one ending early.

Kongo vs Browne - Kongo has improved a lot, his ground game is solid enough that he doesnt need to worry about ending up on his back in this one, and his striking is light years ahead. All depends on how much Kongo wants to finish, so we'll either see an early stoppage or a snoozefest like Kongo vs Buntello.

Wilks vs Patrick - This is probably the last chance saloon for Wilks, we've seen a few TUF winners cut recently, and Wilks has not been at all impressive. I think Patrick will take this one, but its going to be a close run thing.

As per normal, the Brits being taken beaten on the ground, with both Wilks and Hathaway totally outclassed on the floor, let's hope Hardy and/or Bisping manage a win, as I'm sick and tired of seeing the Brits being beaten lately.

People at the O2 tonight haven't got very good value for money so far 3 dull fights with the Brits getting outclassed!

And Hardys just been KO'd! Bad bad night for the Brit fans!

That was a big KO as well, from someone who I didn't think had it in him, shows what I know.

Come on Bisping, because we haved looked very second rate as of late.

What an utterly **** evening for UK MMA.

Can't believe Conduit dropped Hardy - very very frustrating, especially after all the things Conduit said about Paul Daley. Credit where its due though, Dan Hardy has a chin like a piece of iron, so that must have been one hell of a shot.

Edit: Pyle really annoyed me also, coming out to the weigh-in wearing stars and stripes shorts, and then the walkout to Born in the USA, don't know if I'm being overly patriotic tonight after a couple of beers, but just seemed like an absolute penis move.

That Hardy knockout would have been hilarious if it was a Double Knockout, Could very well have been.

Oh well, Dont care much for Bisping...lets see how it goes

Thank gawd for Bisping to restore some pride.

As far as I can recall, that's Pearson, Winner, Hardy, Daley, Hathaway, Wilks, Taylor, Kelly, Mc Sweeney have all lost their last UFC bouts, not good at all!!!

Ai, not good, but Daley has had two fights outside the UFC to put himself back on the winning path.

Not against anyone of note though and I can see Smith knocking him out in Strikeforce.

Paul Sass looked pretty good, especially on the floor, which has cheered me up a bit.

Will they let Daley back or is there no way back for him to ufc?

Unless he wins a Strikeforce title, which I very much doubt, I don't think Dana wants, nor needs Daley back.

As for the UFC cards in Europe, just look at tonights card, then next weeks:

Lesnar v Velasquez
Sheilds v Kampmann
Sanchez v Thiago
Ortiz v Hamill
Shaub v Gonzaga

UFC 122 in Germany:

Marquardt v Okami
Rivera v Sakara
Siver v Winner
Sadollah v Sabata
Soszynski v Relijc

You can't tell me that we're getting good cards there.
