So I just managed to hack through the central gas pipe into our house with a jigsaw. Cue gas board callout, a large fee and a rather unimpressed Miss Platypus ..

I managed to stick a fork through ours when we were redoing our drive... Luckily a gas fitter was working next door and just gave us a coupel of bits to sort it out.

He's here now. The look he gave me when I told him how it happened ...

- My fella decided to make me happy by cleaning the oven one day when I was at work. Thought the best way to do this would be to take the oven door off to give himself more space.

Snapped the brackets off the oven door as he took it off.

Cue new oven as the door wouldn't go back on.

- Our sink was blocked so he took the sink apart underneath to unclog it.

He couldn't remember how it went back together.

Couldn't find all the seals, god knows what he'd done with them.

The sink leaked until we moved out

Some guys and DIY just don't mix - sounds like you're one of them too!

my dad hammered a nail through a gas pipe in the kitchen when we moved into our house 25 yrs ago. for days we were saying we could smell gas but couldn't understand why. lucky escape really.

I learnt a DIY fact yesterday - the Catalyst in a car is ****ing hot and stays ****ing hot for absolutely ****ing ages .

He did it for free as it was An emergency callout, he shouldn't really have repaired it, just made it safe. We gave him a bottle of Champers from our wine store

I remember being a bit heavy handed once and smacked the wall in the kitchen once in temper, unfortunately I hit the light switch / unit and knackered it. I knew my parents would be back later and so I (laughing as I type this) took the light unit cover and switch off of my wall from my room and tried to replace the one in the kitchen in the hope that no one would notice, lol. Anyway, of course, it never worked and later that evening, guess what...I accidentally went to turn on the light in my room.
