Gender of your Characters

Just call me Dorothy on a Saturday! :D (An ex gf once failed to persuade me that dressing up to see the Rocky Horror Show in Sunderland was a good idea - considering the fact we'd be getting out of the theatre at the time everyone's starting to get hammered).

Lol.

I think most girls are obsessed with making men do it just to get a few cheap laughs :p

If I have to stare at a characters ass for all my time playing. - It's going to be a female ass, that is the furthest thing from gay I can imagine.

This is the statement I hear over and over again when it comes to people playing females in games, but to me this just sounds so so so so so so sad.

Well in case of WoW most of my caster classes are female, just seems more suited. In case of Mass Effect I just heard of the lesbian scene :p

I always play as a male because I want to put a part of me into the game. My on screen avatar is supposed to represent me in whatever world I am currently playing in so to play a female character would seem wrong.

Oh right :)
Well obviously they don't look like me. Even when the character creation is as good as something like APBs was you still can't really make them look like yourself.

I have no idea how you can make your character represent you in an MMO. Not only is it usually impossible to make anything even remotely representative of yourself, the notion is also quite depressing.

I'd be a fire conjuring bushy bearded 7 foot demigod over a chubby 25 year old any day, if I'm going to totally exaggerate about my appearance, what difference does sex make?

I'm not talking about being a complete representation of yourself, but I want to be able to empathise with the character and I find that easier to do as a male than a female.

Female usually cos i like to cyber 14 year old boys for legit.

Actually, that's a good point... I think if this was an MMO, I'd still always choose male, purely because I don't want hormonal teenagers making the assumption that I'm a girl. In single player I think it's fine :D

All depends on the looks, voices, storyline, actions and emotes of the models.
Some games I prefer males and other females, simple as. In many games where I have the choice of the two and I know certain aspects of the game will changes because of my choice, I'll play through a 2nd time with the other later.

Once your in a game its fantasy, be it a FPS or an MMO. If I'm going to be playing as a bad ass ninja assassin, does it make me strange to want to be a female bad ass ninja assassin over a bloke one because I'm a bloke in real life? I'm not an assassin in real life so whats the deal?
