*** Official Medal of Honor: Tier 1 Thread ***

What is with this glitchy game! Been hit with the 'Invinicible Taliban' on the mission where you need to kill the Dhsk. Yawn, have to restart the mission.

I spent like 20 minutes of dying before I restarted the mission with a rage on! Then fell through the floor to my death after the opening video to that mission

I haven't even got my copy delivered form play.com yet. They only posted it on the 14th. Whats the point in pre-ordering if they don't deliver it on the day of the release.

They never delivered my copy of Red Dead Redemption and it took me over 8 weeks to get my money back, including at least 30 mins on the phone form Korea when the guy in "support" told me to get someone in the UK to fake my signiture on my claim form.

After using them for 10 years im through with them. Only reason i went back to using them this time is they will deliver to work and work will DHL my stuff out to me in Korea.

My copy of MOH is sitting in my hotel room for once i get home form work DHL delivered it today.

I thought MOH SP started off a little ordinary and buggy(mostly minor glitches), with excellent sound and the graphic quality was up and down like a yoyo, but it all improved quite a lot once i got into the mountains.

Love the MP, its really intense and dramatic, although the amount of snipers and sometimes the artillery on some games can make it tedious and frustrating with lots of Spawn, die, Spawn, die, Spawn, die, Spawn, die, Spawn, die COD style gameplay :)

I also am done with play.com, for many years I used them and always got games the day before official release or on the day of release but this year they have been shocking. I have preordered 3 games from them this year (I usually preorder atleast 6 weeks before release) and when the game comes out on Friday I usually do not receive it until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. This cannot all be put down to Royal Mail cause they deliver for other retailers aswell and people are getting their games on time.

As for the game itself, I liked the SP very serious tone to it but it was a little short if I'm being honest I could've been doing with 1 more hour of playtime on it. The MP I'm loving at the minute, maps are very well designed and the range of game modes are good the only thing that's holding it back for me is the lack of weapons so far I was hoping for more variety.

I'm just on the last mission now, I have to go back to get the It Takes a Village... Out, trophy as I missed it the first time, but I've done all the others that were mission specific. I've really enjoyed it, I don't know if there's any way to see your total play time but I think it's only been around 5 hours if I'm being kind. I've still enjoyed it thoroughly though and it's had quite a gritty tone at times. The review that I read mentioned that the reviewer felt as if the cut scenes with the suit in Washington were a bit awkward and ham fisted and I didn't think that at all, I think the voice acting is excellent throughout the game and while there isn't that much of a story, what there is still remains very well presented. Once I've finished this last mission and then gone back to do the village destroying trophy I'll be diving into the multiplayer. Oh, and I cannot believe that the Timber trophy is a silver trophy, I mean... WHAT?! Shoot 5 trees down with the minigun, ohhh the challenge! :o :p

EDIT: Finished. I quite enjoyed that, didn't experience any of the single player bugs that I'd heard about either, I wonder if they'll make a sequel as it seemed like they left it open for one.

I've played about 30 minutes of the single player and thought meh. As i did with 2 hours of MW2.

I am just sticking with the multiplayer and all i can say is it is worth the £33 i paid for it. Its like Battlefield but less open. Its faster, more enjoyable and fairer. Less going on in terms of vehicles and objectives and the gameplay and sound are both superb. The graphics are ok but that doesnt really matter.

I havent played any mode except hardcore but i can honestly recommend it to anyone who enjoys COD or BC2.

Anyone else having trouble doing the 'It Takes A Village...Out' trophy/achievement? The description is to destroy 30 buildings in Gunfighters Village. I've done this on easy, medium and hard several times to no avail. I haven't actually counted the amount of buildings but I've destroyed every one of them that I can see, when I say destroyed I mean I don't even leave the walls standing, the only thing that is left are the floors of the destroyed building. Is this trophy glitched or am I just doing it wrong? Also, there seems to be a building that looks similar to all the others, it's way out on the right hand side as you fly in, It's only in the viewing angle of the hydra's for a split second and I've tried hitting it but it never seems to blow up, also the guide video I watched the guy doesn't blow that building up on his either but still gets the achievement. Am I doing it wrong?

Yeah, you must be doing something wrong. I got it first time on hard, but I have no tips I'm afraid. I just simply delayed taking the Taliban out and fired rockets as fast as I can at every house, direction, wall, etc. :p

The house which is quite far away from the others doesnt need to be destroyed.

I can't get the damn ATV one. Lined the jump perfectly everytime as well.

Okay cool. :)

I just watched another YouTube vid and the guy suggested that the achievement may accumulate. He showed us a video of two playthroughs, the first playthrough he destroyed everything and didn't get it, and then the second playthrough he killed about 2 thirds of the buildings and the achievement popped up. Weird, anyway I'm just starting my second playthrough today of it, if it doesn't unlock this time then I'm gonna rage hard. :( :p

EDIT: It just popped up, how strange.

I managed the ATV one first time. It's one of the two jumps at the final part of the quad driving. There are two massive ones near the end of that level, I'll get a video for you now.

In order to get the "...But the War Rages On" achievement for completing the game on Hard, do I have to play the game all the way through *sequentially* on hard or can I do each mission out of order? Most games you can do it out of order but then again most games actually make a note of what difficulty you've completed each mission on and MoH doesn't seem to?

Anyone?

Done. :p

Had a few good games with you K1LLSW1TCH, even though I sucked!

Only need three more trophies now.

Yep it was good fun. I wasn't much better, but hey, we both ended up finishing a game each top of our team so think how much worse they must have been. :D :p

Not sure how many more multiplayer trophies I need, I need one more single player trophy for finishing all the missions on Tier 1 under the par time, I'll start that this evening.

I would just play the very last mission on hard and see if the trophy unlocks. This game seems to be very kind when it comes to earning trophies, most of them are exceptionally easy, you get a trophy each for just playing the game modes on multiplayer. If that doesn't unlock it then just start a new campaign on hard, it isn't difficult by any means and I managed to finish it in around 5 hours, I died about 6 times in total and most of those deaths were due to me running around ignoring the Taliban and trying to figure out how to do the extra one or two trophies that require you to do specific things in each mission. I am by no means exceptionally skilled at FPS games so if I can do it then you can too.

Finished the SP earlier on, shame as I was really enjoying it. I've changed my original opinion, the SP easily matches that of MW2

I dunno what to make of this game.

The single player was quite good very short however the multiplayer (optional I know) seems a mixed bag I think some of the level designs could have been planned out a little bit better what with one hit snipers all over the place. I've managed to get the rifle man to level 9 in one evening and am assuming 10 is the max level? I did like the idea of having battlefield 2's frostbite engine because I thought it'd be more similar with bigger maps possibly tanks ect but we've got a game similar to COD:MW2 all but a few differences.

Willing to give this a go till Friday if anyone wants to play some rounds together drop me an invite please.

Well I was unlucky enough to be on the other team on my 2nd session last night when JoeBoi (Pleyor?) decided to rape the living daylights out of us :/ How the hell is the skill score calculated?

So far on MP it seems to me the spawns suck - one map I spawned and was distracted for a minute so hadn't moved. I was sat in a corner and the enemy started spawning and it was like shooting gallery - and of course no kill cams mean't took em ages to realise it was me :o

I love the way it seems to be and the sound is awesome.

I'm fairly certain you can choose where you spawn, if you find you keep spawning and dying then it might be worth spawning in your base instead of spawning on the frontline.
