Gpu's are forever been updated so there is no point in waiting. What resoultion do you game at? If its 1080 or less go with just one 460 or 470. They are more than enough.
It might be a good idea to list the rest of your rig, then people will have a better idea on giving advice. Thats why some folks list there rig in the sig.

Depends on case and mobo. In most scenarios the top card will run MUCH hotter than the bottom due to lack of airflow. The ASUS cooler and most 470's will be very poor in this siuation (I know, I have owned two ASUS 460's in SLI). The ASUS cards are also slightly wider than dual slot, so on many mobos they will touch together.
My vote is with the Cyclone (which I do not own and have no personal bias towards). It's design will allow the top card to suck in more air and run cooler.
470's run hot on their own which is hy many are watercooled. Putting two in a case will make things toasty.
edit: 2xGTX 460's run extremely well at 1920x1200. Even a single 460 can handle 1920x1200 as long as you do not expect 8xAA on everything.
edit2: If you were running a single card the 470 would be a (slightly) better choice. For SLI, the 460 is better unless you have really good cooling.

Your mobo supports 3x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots. If you have space to use both the top and bottom slots then you should be fine with any card combo. However, if you can only use the top two (blue) slots, avoid the ASUS and reference 470 cards.
Looking at your mobo, using the bottom slot may obstruct USB and SATA ports. PSU will definately be fine for 2x 460's and should cope with 470's with a little room to spare.
edit: It is probably worth waiting a week for the new ATI cards. NVidia 460/470 prices should should drop pretty quickly when they arrive.

I actually meant to say avoid the ASUS 460's and reference 470's because their cooling is poor when cards are SLI'd right next to eachother. On it's own, the ASUS 460 is a superb card - much better than reference but it's cooler design is not great for close-quarters SLI. The open design of the Cyclone will likely be much better if OP intends to use the two blue PCIE slots.

The 470's will be 10-15% faster, but if you intend to overclock, 460's will make most of that up due to better overclock headroom. From a pure price vs performance standpoint, the 460's are better value. 460's also run cooler, use less power and take up less space. However the 470 does have extra memory which may come in handy for some future games.
Both come with games bundles at the moment. If you are finding it tough to decide, choose the one with the best game (460+ HAWX2 or 470+ Mafia2).
Personally, I prefer the 460 due to cost, coolness of running and OC headroom, but the extra perfomance may swing it the 470's way for some people. I doubt that you will be disappointed with either.

Isn't that monitor a 2560x1600 res? or are you planning to run it at below native resolution?
If you want to run it at native res then I suggest going for GTX 470 SLI.
