I got the wrong mouse :(

The MX518 actually has an internal weight. It's a piece of metal held via a screw to the top side of the shell. You can pop the mouse open and remove it.
I know it's not a weight system as such but I just thought I'd point it out.

The Logitech G9 might be worth consideration if you can find one at a good price.

Razer Copperhead if the DA was too big.

Used to have a Copperhead for years - amazing mouse but wanted a change so went to DA from that - Copperhead is nice and light too with weights available (at a cost)

Go for a Steelseries Kinzu, the Xai was perfect for holding with your fingertips and the Kinzu is basically a smaller Xai without the buttons.
 
MS Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1a (ultimate finger tip mouse especially if you have it running 250+Hz - tho some people might find it lacking in dpi at higher resolutions) either that or the salmosa for the better sensor.
 
MS Wheel Optical 1.1a - great mouse! cheap too, but it shows it's age with regards to polling/dpi
Razer Salmosa - angle snapping and will cramp your hand after a while
Razer Abyssus - no angle snapping, very comfortable, high specs. great mouse!
SteelSeries Xai - a bit big and heavy for finger tip grippers, awesome sensor though
SteelSeries Kinzu - smaller than the MWO 1.1a, very nice shape, crap glides, crap sensor

I decided I loved the Kinzu's shape and the Xai's sensor, so I bought both and modded the two together :D

I wish there was a gaming mouse in the VX Nano form factor, that's the most comfortable mouse i've used. (As a fingtertip mouser)
 
Well, I have got loads of mice to think about. I will take a peek at some in my local PC store plus a few mates have some of the mice mentioned I think.

Then will order from OC 'cos the prices are good and delivery is ace!

I never realised until now how much thought needs to go into a mouse. It just shows that everyone holds their mice a little different to each other. And that difference can make a hugh impact on the type of mouse you feel comfortable with!

LOL - Thats a cheap mistake compared to my HUUUGE mistake of buying the Razer Mamba :(

I've had the copperhead, Deathadder, lachesis, abysuss and now the mamba.

I'm left handed ;) and use my finger tips for mouse use and found the best one was the Lachesis - its great for fingertip use as it has a 'broad' top.

The deathadder I had the same problem as you - it didnt last me long, copperhead was ok, abysuss was just crap (it even felt cheap)

My Mamba gives me wrist strain after 5 mins :( :( :( - Personally don't like it but I've had it too long to return it now :<

Go for the lachesis as its an ambidextrous mouse AND is great for finger tip use. Wish I'd just got one of them now but my 1yr old son has a tendency of trying to eat my mouse (teething) so wireless is still the only route for moi :(
