AHAHAHAHA. Who wants to swap postcodes?

sweet moses! How did you manage that?

Don't want to sound like an ass or boasting or anything but i'm also 23 and the best quote i got on go compare was just under £1000 with a £250 excess. Only got one years no claims aswell.

LOL, worst quote I ever received was a Nissan GTIR at 21 - car worth £5k, insurance £5.5K :)

What I don't get is why for me, the Clio is £230 odd quid and my Jeep is 387 (and thats only TPF&T) how can one car thats 10X the price of the other be £150 a year cheaper?

Ok people. Even though i think the car is a bit fugly i'm still considering this.

Well, It's a choice between a £5k Civic TypeR (2002/2003), or this. Ive worked out that after 2 years spending on the Type R (MOT's, few things going wrong possibly, higher insurance costs e.t.c.) they both work out about the same....but obviously I end up with no car after 2 years if I went for the clio (It's unlikely i will be in a position to buy it outright at the end of the "lease").

Just out of interest, out of the two options, what would you guys go for?

Postcode.

Change postcode from HA8 (NW London) to PO21 (West Sussex).

I think the Clio personally, I too was considered a CTR but you need to spend upwards of £6.5k for a late one. If anything was to go seriously go wrong with the CTR it could leave you with a big bill, the Clio would go back to the dealer.

You would have the option to refinance the Clio at the end but I don't know what terms this would be.

I'm waiting for 2 quotes to come back, then I'll share the best quote. I'll be looking to order over the phone early next week or next weekend. I'm almost fully decided that I'll take this offer up. Just hope it comes before Christmas ;)

Is there actually anywhere to drive a Clio Cup if you stay in London?
Kinda wasted on the streets...

That's true of most cars, I certainly do not enjoy driving in London and I'm not sure the Clio is the ideal car unless you have access to quiet country roads etc. This gives me the perfect excuse to visit my parents who live in the country :D

I do have access to country roads and I often use A/B roads so plenty of chance to enjoy the car.

Craziness! £750 excess though?

£500 voluntary, £250 compulsory excess. Anything under a grand is acceptable for me.

Bah, all set on getting a used CTR EP3 and now this deal has completely thrown everything up in the air again

Reckon there is any realistic difference in speed between the two? I suppose I should just go and test drive the 200 cup and see for myself!

Not going to be much in it, if anything the clio will be quicker.

I am also tempted by this deal, will see how I feel on Saturday.

Do you think that would be because it will be brand new rather than 8 years old? Odds are that after 8 years an EP3 will have dropped some horses along the way.

I'd think a properly maintained one shouldn't have dropped any power really.

If anything don't cars take a few thousand miles to bed in so the Clio might be a tad slower till you wear the engine in.

hm true.

Argh what a conundrum!

driven both, own the EP3 - in terms of flat out speed not much between them...but then who buys a car for the figures. That's another thread if we want to continue that debate/fight/arguement :)
