I'm not happy.

I just got in from cycling home from work. While on a busy 2 lane road this kid pulls out from the pavement behind a bus stop shelter out of no where - without even looking!!! and stops right in front of me! I braked but the idiot was too close for it to have any affect and sent me flying over the handle bars!

now I'm not hurt or anything, but the kid was 15. I took his details but what good is it, I can't claim for a broken bike as his bike is fine!

I assume I should just claim off my insurance? :(

I'm sorry are you actually looking for advice on where you stand LEGALLY after a 15 year old made you fall off your bike?

ya got pretty pwned. would have been killed if I had been thrown to the right instead of the left as there was a car to my rear right and even they had to break hard but anyway.

yeah will claim off insurance :(

So how come it "wrecked" your bike but his is fine?

is your bike made out of glass and children's dreams?

Bikes aren't as strong as you think. I hit a ped who stepped out in front of me and knocked him over. He got up without a scratch whereas I got up and found my front forks bent and my front wheel totally mangled. Cost a fortune to repair.

when I say "wrecked" I just mean not ridable. the front wheel is all bent. it got like that because his full size bike was facing at an angle where as my folding bike has much smaller wheels, and a big guy on it. not sure why this moot point is relevant to the topic but if you're going to ask I may as well answer :p
