Did an actual attack take place after he walked for a few minutes with his arm around her or was the act of putting his arm around her all that took place? The article isn't clear and makes references to "inappropriate behaviour", although it is past my bed time and I'm feeling a little sluggish. :o

They seem to be taking it very seriously so I assume something more actually took place but you never know these days!

In the footage, captured by numerous cameras throughout the area around 3.30am on Sunday, September 26, the man is seen parking his car before catching up with the girl and putting his arm around her

Well, it counts as battery as far as I know, but you have to be pretty weak to report that. I mean God, just go home and get over it.

This incident has left the young woman extremely upset and she describes it as the worst thing that has ever happened to her.

Someone lives a sheltered life.

That's what I thought, but then why call it a sex attack if there was no sexual element. As you say, surely it would be battery. Is it simply because it's a young drunk girl wearing a short skirt while staggering home, so they automatically go "zOMG sex attack!!"?

She must have been smashed out of her head to let him walk with her for that long.

I bet she wont be drinking that much again.

I think I must be missing something. A drunk woman gets a man's arm on her shoulder and she claims she was sexually assaulted so the police release footage of this man, basically calling him a sex offender

Yeah, I mean if someone rapes a woman, she has got something to kick off about.

If it's only attempted rape and she gets away, why get upset over it?

After all, it's not likely that he will try again on someone else is it?

To be fair, it does say in the article "Watch the footage leading up to the attack, where the man parks his car and begins to follow the student" which suggests more happened that they're not prepared to release details of at this time.

Unless I'm missing something that's not mentioned in the article or shown in the video.

Ah, that's what I was missing.

Of course it's not going to be on CCTV, but the text portion of the article is ambiguous that's why I'm asking if I'm missing something.
