Which was why I mentioned positive role models to enable people to see this is a viable option. And there is big difference between free education and good education. Was it not shown last year that a clever child going to a poor school would be overtaken by a non-so-clever child going to a good school by the age of seven.

Which was why I mentioned positive role models. Drugs is an apparent easy choice for some. With the breakdown of the family unit in such areas the family unit may well be taken over by the gang. You are presuming people are not prejudice and would give them the opportunity. Would you act impartially in employing your post suggest a opinion that indicates you would not. Does this mean there is no hope - no - what it does mean is it is not easy and requires good social care, health care, policing, community action, political will and most of all a lack of prejudice from the overall population and the willingness to give a chance.

But most of them do find respectable jobs. How many gun toting 30 year olds who come from these areas do you hear of, im guessing none. Your comments are im afraid inherrently racist, as your need to keep stating their colour suggests. These are kids, how would they get a job they havent even left school. Maybe you should try and address how to stop the youths in this area having such low expectations.

Correlation is not the same as causation by using your logic I would have to conclude that eating rice makes you eyes go brown I mean look at all those Chinese and Indian people - they eat rice and bingo brown eyes - case proved!

Free education provides the basis for someone to get themselves a half decent job ... there is no denying that.

If there is no work in a particular area, and you have nothing tying you down there .. then yes you get on a bus and move. Look at America, people have moved from state to state in order to lead a better life.

I never saw that part on the Ofsted reports for my local schools. They used different categories to define quality and as arguable as they are for indicators of quality I really think they add a bit more "meat" than that suggestion.
