Milk is awesome, end of! Although buying organic milk is one of the more beneficial 'organic' purchases.
Lactose intolerant simply means you don't have the enzyme lactase, which means you can't break it down :)

In regards to the OP, I think I read somewhere that when you stop drinking lactose containing drinks and stop eating lactose foods your body stop producing lactase, which breaks down lactose. So should you then start suddenly drinking milk again it will feel a bit weird.

I, for one, will be continuing to drink milk. Always have done, I've actually never had cramp in my life which I think is fairly unusual!

his problem was prob drinking 2 gallons of the stuff a week.

2 us gallon - 7.5 litres
2 uk gallons - 9 litres

thats a lot of milk in a week.

Are you only finding this out now?

It's actually fairly accurate. The human body is not designed to process dairy products or wheat products. Human milk from mothers breast is fine, but cow milk does not sit well with the human body. We've just become used to it.

I've never heard it being called the Perfect Health Food by experts though, ever! It's full of fat, which will just sit in the body. Milk is also not the drink of choice if you have a cold as it exagerates the sinus / mucas balance.

And yet here we are, millions upon millions of us, drinking it day in, day out, with no ill effects.

People have too much time in their hands..seriously, going against drinking milk? some people have huge issues..huuuuuge..

A diet rich in dairy product consumption will capture more fat than any other food source and help you excrete up to 40% more fat than any other diet. It was a few months ago in a bbc documentary.
