Nope, 19 inch RFT's and thats the cheapest price at Camskill. Let me just get the prices again..

Front size you can have either Eagle F1 Assymetric RFT @ £200 each, or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT at £218 each.

In the rears its the same two tyres again at £260 each.

So not quite what I thought they were but thats still £1000 after fitting.

On a 2 litre diesel.

Dam:(

Sorry I thought we were on about Vauxhall dealers, rather than independant ones

the vauxhall dealer network had first refusal when they got rid of the Vectra VXRs

about 30 (well i exaggerate, but a lot) of them appeared in central stock at once.

Didnt sell quickly so after a month or two disappeared - presumably to auction.

Really didn't realise they cost that much. I assume most people dump the RFT's anyway as they're suppose to be pants? Surely you just get a proper premium tyre?

Hardly anyone dumps the RFT's.

They are indeed pants.

I take it though when looking for an e9x you shouldn't be put off by something with proper tyres on it, or if you end up with a car with RFT's on it just change them next time they are due?

Wow didn't realise these were remarketed!

MB have a bunch of AMGs which are used for trackdays etc - I'm almost certain that these end up being used for testing and press but never sold to the trade or public!

Press, lol, have a look at some of the BMW AUC adverts for decent cars. Sometimes the dealer just copy and pastes whats on the system option wise.

Always amusing to see an M5 listed with 'Press Preperation' in the options list :D

BMW M press cars were rumoured to have the very best engines, always seemed to be a little more powerful on the rollers at the BM3W rolling road days...

As do Porsche, I remember Porsche Sutton selling the Green 997 GT3 RS from the Top Gear and Fifth Gear programs, though their press cars do spend their life at Reading getting regular fettling and are like new when they have finished with them.

I once dove a "press" WR1 - it had 3,000 HARD miles on it and my god it went like stink. Ordinarily you'd be waiting for 10,000 miles minimum before the engine started to losen up.

Run in at 3k for your driving pleasure.

That's why many places recommend running in an engine hard, from the word go. You've got minimal time to get a decent seal between rings and block, and running the engine gently does not promote that.

to be fair the same is said of the vauxhall cars - they want for nothing with brake disc / pad & oil changes etc.. daily.
