Thats an astonishingly good deal. Where did you get that?

That deal is available from e2save, mobiles.co.uk and the other one. Check moneysupermarket.com's mobile phone section for best contract offers.

oh, and btw... mobiles.co.uk offer £50 cashback (via quidco) for a contract ... higher than elsewhere. just sayin' :)

Yeah 24 month contracts are teh suck. But when all your competitors have made it the norm, why not? :) Suckers - I mean _customers_ will always want new phones. Now you dont have to give them a new one every year. :S

I didn't get a DHD from T-Mobiles Friday batch (which might not have even arrived) so it looks like another week or more of waiting!

Was sat in a car for 3 hours on the way to Alton Towers this weekend and my mate has the SGS ... sweet bit of kit - would have been nice to compare phones!

Ok I need to do something to improve my battery life, at the moment it's just worrying me.

What do I need to turn off? What should I download to help turn it off? And should I root to get some sort of power management program on the go?

What I don't get is when locked in my pocket, it still seems to drain battery just as fast as when I'm using it :S

Although the screen is off other apps like facebook and twitter etc could be syncing?

What about apps that are open?

Quite possibly! How do I tell which apps are open or not? I don't use twitter and facebook updating is about as useful to me as a chocolate fire-guard. Where do I turn both off?

Edit: If I turn Facebook updates off does that mean I loose the birthdays in the calendar that are pulled from there? They're actually quite useful.

Have a quick read here mate:

http://hemorrdroids.net/htc-desire-hd-battery-life/

Covers a few basic Android power saving techniques and also some Sense specific ones too.

Which FB account/sync should I be using, Facebook or Facebook for HTC Sense? In terms of contacts and the FB app (not so important as I can use the Touch website).

How long are you getting out of a charge? Mine lasts a waking day very easily and over night it uses only 10% battery when off charge. This is with wifi on all the time.

Oooooo ordered mine Friday AM from Vodaphone online, wifes just called it's at home, she's now asking if she can have a play... no

Lol, my ':D' above was meant to convey 'good luck getting it in five days from Vodafone'. Now it seems people ordering Friday are getting theirs before me, who ordered in on the 21st October :p. How very lame. Still, I've got my awesome Nokia 6500 to play with until then :(.

It's very hard not to sound whiny in this situation.

Anyone know if T-Mobile boosters can be added after a contract has been taken out?

edit. Just to confirm O2 are not doing the DHD. Just phoned for my PAC code and asked. They're pushing the HD7 :(
