Obligatory New Car Thread

Any idea on if the HG's been done before? If not then you should be ok, but it seems like once they fail, they'll go often.

I'd get the coolant changed if you've no idea when it was last done, and check all coolant hoses whilst you're at it.

A friend bought one earlier this year. People were joking about HGF's. She'd replied saying it had just been done by the previous owner. Couple months later and it went on her!

The headgasket hasn't been done, but it looks like it had a coolant change on its last service as it looks pretty clean.

Tempted to put an induction kit on it to make it a little nosier, can hardly hear it :o

you are thinking about what enthusiasts say about the car. Most people couldnt care that it is significantly better around the lanes of this country :p

Try and find me a 51 plate mx5 with 42k on for ~2k thats in perfect nick. Also coming from an MR2 I prefer the mid engine layout anyway.

And besides, my mum has an MX5 :p

The MGF handles a huge amount better than the MR2, most likely due to being lighter.

I know the MX5 is an awesome car, and I've driven hers pretty extensively and like it a lot.
But lets be honest, would you buy the same car as your mum has regardless of how good? Didnt think so :p

Heh, you could always convince her she needs a new car, like an MGF. ;) Can't say she'd be likely to downgrade though. :p You could always have got a mk1...

At least you have access an MX-5! I shall have access to one in December and I cannot wait. :D

Not trying to pee on your parade btw! :o
