RDR is the most frustrating game I've ever played

on xbox360 version, my mate has been trying to do the '#shoot 2 hats off in 5 seconds' thang.

now i timed him as he was doing it. he did it on multiple occasions with either a signle bullet on 2 targets lined up. or individually on CPU characters AND human players...

anyone had issues with this?

There's a gang hideout and there are two guards in guard towers with massive sombrero's on, that was how I did it. Another viable strategy is to go crazy with a shotgun and you'll often get disarms and hat shots that way. :)

I loved this game, it was a fantastic setting and put a different dynamic on the normal dull openworld games.

The ending was pretty naff mind...

Don't get me wrong, it is one of the prettiest games around, and it does run really well compared to GTA4. Riding out of the starting area to the cliffside overlooking the plains where Armadillo is was a pretty awesome moment.

(my horse then fell off the cliff)

A game like Red dead is never going to be free from glitches and occasional weirdness due to the scale of the map/world. On the whole I think for me personally it would be in my top 20 games of all time but maybe not the top ten. Amazing atmosphere and story building. Good variety of missions and different ways of playing. A bit repetitive in parts, but generally nothing has ever been so atmoshperic and immersive in the wild west before. I think it's a pretty classy game. You have to make allowances for the odd sillyness imo.

LOL my horse spazzed out a couple of times during my game play. I am nearing the end of the game (don;t get to play much) and have had it since it came out. At the end of the day you generally can always recover from the glitches. The worst one I had was where I lost all my money for no reason. It just went randomly down to zero dollars. Apparently this happens for a lot of people after a certain mission.

I liked it well enough, I played it most of the way through, but lost interest towards the end and eBayed it while it was still worth a fair chunk of its cost to me.

Main problem in my eyes is this.

Meet new NPC who is obviously your next step, plot wise.

NPC: "Do this for me. Now this. And do this. Now do this. Ok now do this"

You: *Does loads of stuff*

NPC: "Thanks, here's what you were looking for. Well actually it was right there when you first came up to me but you didn't know. Catch you later, mug!"

Rinse and repeat with about four or five characters, blah blah. I pretty much feel the same about GTA recently but at least in GTA there's a LOT more to do to amuse yourself outside of the plot. In RDR it's just.. shoot stuff, skin stuff, scenery, horsey rides, train, put tied up woman in front of train... then you're done, really.

Wait till you try the online side of things! Just groups of kids going round spawn killing whoever they can with the crazy auto-aim, Hardcore mode is better but it's still filled with idiots. It's very frustrating when you're at a low level with rubbish guns playing against people who are at max level and can pick you of in a few shots from miles away.

Good game but by the time i got to blackwater it was getting repetative. Ps3 version btw no bugs to speak of but my god is it blurry.

Loved the game to bits, the setting, music, weather and overall cowboy-ness just gives me goosebumps.

The unpredictability of events just added to the whole experience for me, just wandering around completing all the missions with NPCs just standing there watching impassively would have been boring. Shooting the last skunk for a challenge, then getting off my horse to skin it, then getting killed by a bear is what makes it exciting. The west that they're trying to depict was an unpredictable place where life was cheap, and I think the game brings this across brilliantly.

I completed the game except for a few trophies, and didn't notice any glaring bugs at all.

If I have once criticism it's that once the story is complete, the world feels a little empty, but that's minor. I've just installed the zombies DLC and am about to play.... can't wait.

I loved whistling for my horse and watching it run off a cliff, I think it's about the funniest thing I've ever seen in a game. I've done it once and the horse got hit by a train, which was arguably even better.

LOL! I think I would have paralysed myself laughing if I saw that! :D

I haven't had many problems with it - though I'm admittedly not that far in.

Only one that sticks in my mind was in Armadillo. A group of bandits rode in, hooting and hollering and firing guns from their horses. So I shot them all. Honour went up.

Next thing I know, everyone around is gunning for me and a siege situation soon developed in the Sheriff's office. I had to quit and reload as it was mental.

Also - can anyone tell me how to quickly stop your horse if you're galloping along?

LOL, yea dude thats not a glitch, it was an ambush rofl...

For ****'s sake, you are literally the 4th person to deliberately ignore what was actually wrong. I even said in the same damn sentence what the bug was and that still hasn't stopped brain-dead morons like you from totally missing the point and making a complete embarassment out of yourselves, thinking you've one-upped some random dude on the internet.

approached a woman on the roadside who was friendly, then immediately got shot and killed by 4 bandits who teleported in

to be fair I didn't experience any bugs due to the fact the game was so dull I turned it off. I don't know what it is but I NEVER like newish games by rockstar, say after vice city
