I went out in Tims at one of the Manchester Meets, while the exhaust and engine was comedy gold, with the rev counter going right up to 10k.
It didn't feel that quick, and handled quite tidy, I wouldn't pay the £3800 ontop of what my 306 Rallye cost to buy one since there was no real world difference in it, just how big your balls are and how thick your skull is.
Unless you want advice on buying a Mondeo or a BMW why even post on here

Difference will exist at sale time but you get to drive a car that uses less fuel and doesnt have French electrics in the meanwhile.
Precisely. Why are you posting here?
Please tell me that this is your attempt at being humorous. Please do. I just can't go to bed tonight thinking that a sane human being would spout such utter nonsense.
Bringing in fuel costs for a "hoon car" is stupid as it is. Bringing in fuel costs comparing it to a car that will (nearest makes no difference) return more or less the same sort of MPG figures is really stupid.
No wait, the EK9 is a 1.6 and the 306 is a 2.0. That MUST be wrong.
FWIW, my friend with the EK9 claims a tank to tank average of around 34MPG (Calculated on odometer since last fill up and brimming each fill up). It would seem the b16 is really rather quite frugal. I guess having 5600RPM of 'economy mode' and a light car to power helps.
Best Motoring makes Top Gear seem scientific.
Doesn't stop all the jap fanbois drooling over it! Entertainment it may be (debatably...) but anything other than that it certainly is not.
Are you sure? I observed the changeover wasn't until around then earlier, but I'm sure someone told me that they tacho over-reads.
