... No really, its awesome

Office for mac 2011 via the techg program (I got a "free" upgrade to 2011 due to when I bought 2008) right. Had to pay $15 delivery charge of a backup disk which is fair enough. However, just checked my bank statement and I've been charged that $15 five consequtive times as shown below....

So a rather lovely £55.50 due to a debit service charge which they also didn't tell me about. I could have bought the student version cheaper with completely ignoring the techg program due to this....

Needless to say, sent an extremely strong worded email to the techg team asking why the hell they have charged me 5 times for 1 simple thing.

I presume the "service charge" is because you're buying a product in USD on an English card right?

The service charge is nothing to do with Microsoft - it is your bank that has charged you for a foreign currency exchange.

You own a Mac, you're used to paying 5x more than the same thing would be on a PC and so the billing system has taken that into account.

MS is clearly trying to make sure you see value in the product based on the "you get what you pay for" mantra so beloved of Jobs legions. Frankly it's a travesty that Stella Artois got the "reassuringly expensive" strapline before Apple :D

It's like the Ug boot for men.

Everyone seems to have them, but I don't know why. (though Ug's aren't so popular now).
