The time has come

Probably not "raw" enough. Or it's "Just a 205". Or something stupid like that.

A 205 GTI with 16v lump under the bonnet and associated suspension mods is the definition of a B Road/track day weapon.

I said this on page 10 but it didn't raise interest.

Mi205 with good suspension - and throttle bodies for the noise alone. And completely standard looking from the outside - now that would make a depreciation proof vehicle.

In summary, Mike appears to be unable to stop himself exaggerating certain things or extrapolating thrid party information he's come across. As we all know this is the number one sin smeone can commit on the Ocuk forums in general. As is customary here, the marjority people revel in running rings around people perceived as weak in this way and this is especially true in Motors. Persoanally, I would more more intestered in the detective work being used to explore allegations of conflict diamond smuggling or arson, but someone gettings some facts wrong about a car seem to be a more popular line of investogation as it happens.

The clue is in the forum title treacle, it's 'Motors' not 'Gems'.

Mike, just do what you want. Why is this so hard for you? Take the advice given in this thread or leave it but just get on with things, man. I can't deal with yet another 'spec me' thread from you. Buy a car or don't. Make a choice.

Jesus, I go away for a weekend and this thread has reached 11 pages. Just wow mike.

Yeah because your car choice threads have always been nice and concise. You're practically Mikehiow's doppelganger in the 'faffing around and getting upset in over-long spec me thread' stakes!

Why not look at 205's Mike? They can't depreciate any more than they already have, and mint ones are starting to fetch silly money, so if anything they're going up in value.

When car magazines argue over the best hot hatch of all time the 205 is almost always in the fight. The EK9 usually isn't.

Because the EK9 isn't available in the UK market. There's no doubt it's a much better car than a 205, but then it would be, it's a decade younger.

Fair point on the 172, though.

Been doing some thread trawling, us Scots like to know who we are dealing with when it comes to selling cars.

If my mortgage advisor (a personal friend) thinks she can get it done, I have no reason to doubt her :)

Do you have a mortgage now Mike? If so can you actually afford this car?

I found a few snippets here and there that suggested you do not actually have a mortgage so I guess you can afford the car.

When do you collect the EK9 anyway? I shall see if I can be about so we can meet in person.

Wow.... Im a long time reader, first time poster.

Mike, I remember you from vxronline. Sold the Corsa.... Got the four door Focus ST. Then I remember you saying that you wanted to get rid and get something "bigger" (please correct me if I'm wrong).... Think you wanted to replace it with a 3 series... Cant recall why.

Now you plan to get a civic........ and not just any civic at that lol
