Looking to upgrade!

I've been looking around for a while to upgrade from my EVGA GeForce GTX 260. I'm not very clued up on graphics cards, but I have been looking at a 470. I have been checking out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-088-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1810

Also, what power cables do these 400 series cards use? My current 260 takes 2 6 pin connectors, are the 400s the same?

Yep, 470 requires 2 x 6 pin pcie connectors. Would be a nice upgrade from the 260.

Any reason why don't want the cheapest 470, just the same as the Gigabyte.

FWIW, I have a 260 and a 275 and see no real need to upgrade at present, nor can I see a decent upgrade path within the NVidia product range right now.

The 460 isn't enough of a jump and the 470/480 are too hot and noisy. The new 580 shows promise for the future as it's much cooler and quieter than its predecessors, so I'm going to wait for the 560/570 which should be announced soon and I think will prove to be the best bang-for-buck upgrade path.

I just noticed the 580 cards today. But they currently are too expensive for me. I might wait for the 570s to appear then and see how much they cost.

You tired Raven, OP linked to the Msi 470, which I got today. According to Msi it has Military this and that and better components so maybe worth the extra £15.

To the OP, dont wait. There's always a 'new' card around the corner. The '570', when it comes will be £300 or I'll be surprised. The 470 is easily the best buy just now.
