Are Americans Dumb

You do have to wonder how Sarah Palin is within reaching distance of the US Presidency though. When she was McCain's running mate you could accept that as a one off, perhaps a desperate stunt by McCain. Yet after what everyone witnessed over the last 2 years, a sizeable chunk of American people decided that they liked what they saw and continuted to support her...

Although I suppose that is a discussion for another thread.

Ronald Reagan had his critics and his economic policies were certainly interesting as he put the defecit sky high while he built up the US military at a rate that the Soviet Union couldn't match and he knew it would collapse as a result.

A long time champion for the destruction of the Berlin Wall, previously unheard of relationship between the US President and Soviet President where countless people around the world were very heartened to see him shake hands with Mr Gorbachev in Revkyjavic in 1986.

Also, one of the most popular presidents in history.

Dumb ? I think his place in history is assured.

America is a large place (obvious comment of the day), so there are bound to be more [something] people there than here or other 'modern' countries we think of.

There's plenty of retards in the UK thats for sure. Anyway, I know at least one american that is pretty clever AND very far from fat, so there must be some exceptions. :D

I tend to look above the stereotyping and Spitting Image slant of things.

To read up on his life is more interesting that people may think.

Conversely, ask Britons the same question and the results might be similar.
 
George Bush isn't dumb? Well he's just admitted authorising torture against terror suspects which could end up with a prosecution against him. That's pretty dumb I'd say.
