Do you think i'm stupid

post something showing otherwise then?

5770 in crossfire is poor.

Its not poor stulid it only cost around £220 for average frames faster than a 5870 and minimums near a 5850 stop with your fanboy antics. Just looking through some of those games and the minimum frames seem to be better than a 5870 in a good few games and usually better than a 5850. It seems you just don't want to look at the benchmarks. The guy has a decent graphics setup and theres no reason if he wants to wait why he shouldn't or he could just get a gtx580 and be just as happy.

+1

nothing stupid about wanting the "fastest DX11 GPU in the world"

crossfire scales poorly, so getting a single fastest graphics card will get your minimum framerates up, remove the ATi microstutter problem, and you can also enjoy the new Nvidia driver improvements.

Oh woohoo. So Nvidia beat Nvidia?. GTX 580 replaces GTX 480 as fastest single GPU. What about the cheaper GTX 460/470 in SLI, 6850/6870 in Crossfire that beat the GTX 580 for a cheaper price?. Do we have a title for that too?.

Stulid. All your posts today have been flamebait, argumentative and showing you clearly have no respect for others as well as not having a clue how to respond to people in a discussion. If you want, I'll go dig out your posts not only in this thread but the GTX 580 review also ( http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18205326 ).

The quotes are from this thread only but have a look around the forums with anything to do with GTX 580. You've got this stulid causing arguments everywhere.

Jesus wept, your silly fanboy remarks are actually quite embarrasing.

Crossfire does not scale poorly. Microstutter isn't limited to AMD hardware. AMD drivers also contain imrpovements.

Please, quit with the inane dribble you post all the time in the graphics forum.

...and I own a GTX460 before you call me an ATI troll.

Suspend please

These are mild mannered compared to some.

something something

so are you going to provide any evidence to the contrary about the poor 5 series crossfire scaling?

remember, attack the argument-not the man!!!!

you have posted NOTHING to the contrary so are the same as the other posters in this thread.

I would edit your first post because what i can see here is that your post is in reply to the OPs 5xxx cards but at the same time making a general statement as you did not specify that your only taking about the 5xxx at the time.

in the market for a new top of the range card as well. more Im reading more I want to wait and see what ati come up with before deciding which to get. Only think I'm decided on is a new powerful card

I do though find it quite easy to be patient as always watercool so have to wait on blocks anyways.

It was YOU that brought it up. It has NOTHING to do with the question the OP asked.

Sigh, read your first post again. The opening post was a guy who ALREADY has Crossfire'd 5770 asking about the upgrade to a GTX 580. You responded with a load of fanboi love that had NOTHING to do with the question presented. You just use any opportunity to be argumentative. That was my point.

for wanting to upgrade now (as in right now) from my 5770 crossfire
to a 580 stock
(with a good 3 slot aftermarket cooler for near complete silence at a later date)

or should i wait for the new amd to possibly push to price down of these a bit more or even wait till one of them is on special offer on the overclockers front page or weekly deals.
Do you think we would see them at £350 or am i asking a bit much

any advice on what anyone else is doing would be nice
as i keep putting a 580 in my basket before quickly closing (lol)
so tempting

He only wanted to know if to buy now. He owns 5770s in Crossfire so I think he knows fine enough the limitations of his system. Did it need your pointless waffle stulid of what you think when it was not even asked?.

To the OP. Yeah, just wait and see what happens as it is the best option. I apologise for having to respond to others on your thread but as you see, it was needed.

I responded to his question of upgrading, by pointing out the benefits!!!

you have again added ZERO to this thread and his opening post!! well done!!!

It is his OWN SYSTEM. :o I think he knows.....

I have added to the thread by responding to the question in my last post, as well as apologising for having to deal with you.

You have shown nothing but distaste for anything AMD related when it comes to the graphics section. You have also been disrespectful to several people in doing so. You have used this opportunity like you have many others to slip in your opinion even when it's not been asked of you.

Being helpful is what makes OCUK forums a great place but when you have someone acting biased and using any chance they get to promote their biased opinion the place loses it's value. Try and remember that it's not all about you and YOUR opinion.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/10/08/ati_crossfirex_vs_nvidia_sli_new_games_performance/3

quote

"ATI Radeon HD 5870 CrossFireX - CrossFireX performance was lagging behind SLI quite a bit. GeForce GTX 460 SLI was beating HD 5870 CFX in this game. AMD needs to work on CrossFireX scaling in this game."

"ATI Radeon HD 5870 CrossFireX - CrossFireX was broken. Only seemed to be receiving the performance of one HD 5870 in this game.

GeForce GTX 480/460 SLI - SLI performance seemed to be working, but cannot compare SLI scaling to CrossFireX since CrossFireX is not working."

so be gone fanboi

ATI Radeon HD 5870 CrossFireX - CrossFireX performance was good and worked without issue. Hard to tell how well it scales with SLI since SLI was broken.

GeForce GTX 480/460 SLI - SLI performance seemed to be broken. While framerates were playable at high settings due to the nature of this game being different than first person shooters, it could not compete with AMD CrossFireX.

You do realise I just picked that out of the review YOU LISTED< on the page you linked to.

Anyone want some:

:p

But seriously stulid everyone is agreeing that you are causing problems, so just try to take it down a notch.

And as posted many times with evidence you are wrong about the 5770 cross fire, accept it and move on.

So can we please get back on topic now and help the OP more with his decision.
