thats almost as funny as northerns calling roundabouts "islands". :D

as for this thread, i hadnt even opened it because it was obvious that it would be full of more rotten tripe from our psychotic friend mike.

turns out i missed an absolute blinder.

Mike, youve raised the bar in terms of plain embarrassment. well done. i look forward to the next thread

Indeed, monster headed blind ones that ignore all other road users and think a flasher is something that takes its clothes off and does not need to be used when turning junctions.

Well I call mine an indicator and I use it all the time unless the road is completely empty in which case there's no need to use it for obvious reasons!

I also don't ignore other road users!

Who does that? Certainly no one I know "up north". Traffic Islands are those things that are usually found at crossings, with bollards in the middle of them.

Yes the ones that when you drive into write the car off :D

Is there still any money in importing from Japan? I thought that was all played out 10 years ago.

Its not like it was 10 years ago I am sure, I was only 16 then but I suspect importers were making £000s on every car.

You make little more than what you would do buying and selling a UK car TBH but what you give yourself is a competitive advantage as if bought right the cars are a lot lower mileage, rust free and well looked after usually with some tasty tuning parts on them. You have to be careful with what you buy as there is also a lot of rubbish on the market.

So in essence no, however EK9s etc are Jap only cars, whilst there is demand there is money to made bringing them in.

I can only give it a go, if it does not work I shall try something else.

Good man, thats the spirit i like a trier.

I only asked as pals of mine and my brother were at that 10 years ago, then something happened that made it less attractive so they duffed it. Cant remember now what it was that ****ed it.

It is well worth the read if you can spare a few hours, but from memory:
  • Mike lists his final choice of cars he is thinking of getting as B-road blasters
  • Much debate about them and how we've debated them in the past
  • Mike decides he will go for something not on his final list and buys an EK9, unseen and having never been in one
  • But then it turns out he hasn't bought it and in fact has an offer in that he expects will be accepted when the car doesn't sell on ebay
  • the car doesn't sell on ebay
  • We're waiting to see if Mike has done the deal

And inbetween all that much fun delving into Mike's previous threads, stances on certain subjects, general contradiction of stuff and even at one point I think we were looking at his results on the Isle of Wight autocross circuit.

I see. Thanks for the synopsis :)

As there's a zillion pages in this thread I think I'll save reading it for a rainy day and get back to work.

Same here, although I use mine even when nobody else is about, just in case. I also don't ignore other road users, but they love to ignore me and try to ram my car. :/

Lol that reminds of earlier this week when I was dropping my bro to school on the way to work, this Toyoda small 4x4 driver (Rav4 iirc) was driving excessively slowly (20 in a 30) only because it was a bit damp from what I could tell so naturally I engine braked up to him but not close enough to be bum licking. Anyway a few seconds later he suddenly slams his brakes so I quickly braked too and stopped behind him at the same distance still. I wondered wtf and we began moving again then suddenly he does it again!

Seemed like he wanted me to go into the back of him so he could claim...some drivers are tards.

1) Overtake
2) Brake
3) Profit.

Why do you care? You've spent your whole time on this forum attacking me?

I've already mentioned, the shortlist is a DC2 or EK9.

Youre better off keeping you shortlist or plans of purchasing a car to yourself mate.

You're making yourself look like a liar/bad story teller.

Didnt the owner of the said EK9 join this forum and reveal that you didnt seem to excited during the test drive?

From what I've read you were rather nervous.

Best thing to do right now is either speak the truth or have mods close the thread lol.

You're being obliterated..

Why lie?

Gav-EK9 is regurgitating 4-5th hand Chinese whispers.

He is neither the owner of the EK9 I went out in, nor has he spoken to him. He isn't the vendor of the EK9 I was interested in, either.

I think is was someone who knew the owner of the one he went out in rather than the owner of the one for sale.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we set out to deceive...

Mike why did you tell us you had bought a house and that your mortgage advisor reckoned it would all be done in a matter of weeks some 6 months ago?

Always thought he was a little different when he decided he wanted rid of the ST.... All this just confirms it.

I shouldnt be laughing this much at work lol

If that is the case then I'm sorry.

I said that wasnt happening in 6 weeks. It takes that long with all the ****ing about buying them for cash.

Not surprised, people seem to think that BMWs are the devil and must be destroyed with their piece of rubbish cars.

On Sunday two (women) decided that my lane into and out of a shopping centre was better than their lane and tried to remove the front of my car...one in a Saab got a blast of horn, realised her mistake and pulled back into her lane. When I was alongside she got :D and thumbs up. Winds people up more than swearing. :p

I think he said he is the previous owner of the car, not the current one. :)

As for all the questions regarding insurance. He said the following some months back -

Before my VXR was £1200 FC with a £500 excess, with my 20 year old girlfriend on the policy.

Now its £600 FC with £200 excess again with the girlfriend as a named driver.

I'm 23.

That was when he got the ST. You said EK9 was around £100 cheaper. And you still refuse to pay a little extra to get the car...

Perhaps it has something to do with inflation. I purchased a pack skittles for £0.60p yesterday... Yes.... £0.60p. I remember when they were around £0.35p.

Madness I tell you.
