If the engine in the Celica is crap, what does that make the RX-8 engine?
compared to the 140hp unit he is on about, a total power house!

The 190 isn't actually a proper 190bhp engine. It's 140bhp until 'lift' takes place at high revs.

Probably nobody, but it's still a crap engine, and it looks rubbish. I just pointed it out because i remember being in the back of my dads mates 140 version and im 5ft 8 and had to lean to the side lol.

Yeah man, can't believe Toyota tried to pull the wool over everyones eyes with that one.....lol
edit: Just found a dyno graph of the engine:

It doesnt have much torque at lower revs.
So tell me I'm not right then.
Instead of ridiculing me, how about explaining how I'm wrong eh?

Basically the bhp figure in the brochure is peak power. No car makes that power all the time.
I hate the Celica and think VVTLi engines are crap. I have no fanboyism at all. I think you are wrong.

Stay clear of the 140 though, the 190 is more fun.![]()
The 140 engine isn't that bad in my MR2 right now, but yer if I do go for the Celica it will be the 190 2zz version
Mr2 is quite a bit lighter though I'd guess? I think they use this engine in some of the elises too. Ridicule me if I'm wrong![]()
