GIVE ME ZE ALCOHOL!
Of course you did.
I failed anyway
You did because the cashier would not take your word for it because they are not allowed to. If they ID someone, they have to see ID, not have some random person tell them the person is old enough.

They would if you were their mate.
I wouldn't, just because your friend thinks that someone is over 18 doesn't mean they are. Also, it wouldn't be your friend who got into trouble.

This is jobsworthiness (made up word) at its highest.
Harrison Ford has told an interviewer that he was asked for ID to buy alcohol - at the age of 68.

Now come on, I've heard they're strict on underage sales of alcohol in the US, but really, 68? I know he's still fit enough to do Indiana Jones stunts but he looks a little over 21.
Reminds me of that McDonald's advert from years ago when the employee asked Alan Shearer for his signature to prove it's him!
I've never been to the states - is it really that bad out there for this sort of thing?

Exactly, if they have any sense then they'd still refuse the sale without ID...but then this is platinum87 and anyone who is friends with him must be more than a bit dim.![]()

Im not friends with him, i just see him all the time, and he remembers me.
Also it was just the 3 of us as it was just near closing, if it was during busy time, i wouldnt have said anything, and he prob wouldnt have taken my word on it because of others like YOU standing about in the queue going like this![]()
In the US they have zero tolerance for selling alcohol to minors. That is, if the pub has been open for 35 years, and sells one bud-light to a 20 year old that looks 32, it is immediately shut down forever. No warnings ever, immediate shut down entire business is closed.
Is that evidence that people never do something they are not allowed to do?

Not that I'm sticking up for Platinum87 here. But yeah If I had to go to a shop where one of my mates work, and I was with another mate 90% of them would take my word for it they were of age.
So with that understanding, I must also be dim.![]()

I don't understand why you would say to the checkout guy saying you didn't even know the girl. It's not impossible that she could have been underage or a test by Trading Standards. Your lying could have got the checkout man into trouble which isn't on.

As simple case of 'not allowed' is very much different from potentially breaking the law, incurring a large fine for yourself, your company and losing your job.![]()
Its not you though, its someone else, you impose what you would do on another person and then refuse to accept that it would even happen?Which is even more reason for him to ignore you and continue doing his job properly.
It's platinum87...no point really trying to understand him.![]()
