Harrison Ford ID'd for alcohol

What is shocking about this?

Some states have it as the law, you want alcohol, you must be ID'd.

Saves the cashiers embarrasment as people know they will have to show ID, and stops the "oh but he looked older!" argument.

Is no hassle showing ID, who doesn't carry their drivers license?

I just take it for granted now, that im going to get ID'd. Its not a big hassle now i have a US drivers licence, but when i had to ensure i had my passport on me it was.

Having said that, i didnt get carded this week at the store when i bought some beer :)

I'm a young looking 38yr old who happens to live in the USA. I only get carded by dumb people. Supermarket cashiers are the worst for it. In a bar usually not.. I personally find it extremely irritating..A pet peeve of mine. Why, well the thing about the USA is that it lacks a lot of common sense when it comes to Alcohol. If I'm at a resturant with my wife and two young children and just want to enjoy a bottle of bud with my soon to be consumed dinner, why bother? If I was possibly a teen trying to buy bottles and bottles from a liquor store, fair doo's.. But in a resturant ? Please oh please use some god damn common sense ! As in the case of Harrison Ford.. Whoever carded them should have rec'd an award for being inexcusably dumb !

Is that evidence that people never break the law then?

That is not what I said now is it, I merely stated that it's something that most people would not do and would not be silly enough to do as they value their jobs and their income.

Its not you though, its someone else, you impose what you would do on another person and then refuse to accept that it would even happen?

Whut? I'd hope that most if not all cashiers in shops would abide by the law, what has that got to do with me? I do realise that people do it, but I'm saying they shouldn't do so and I also do not believe you.

You make no sense. This isnt up for debate either, its pure fact. What is up for debate is why you decide to start an argument over something i posted which is just something random that was to do with "being ID'd"..

You are known on here for producing many, many lies and idiotic statements, so why should anyone believe you anyway?

what i found annoying is they wouldnt accept a UK drivers licence as proof of age.

Thats a dumb one right there.. I have an Employment Authorization Card on me that is an official goverment ID with holograms and all sorts of security emblems, but the dumb girl serving, decided in her own pea sized mind that this wasn't sufficient to satisfy her.. Once again I was with the kids and family, but this time I let my frustration get the better of me. I told her it was no suprise she was waiting tables given her lack of abilty to apply common sense to everyday situations... Her manager came over and just said serve the man !!! Needless to say, i probably ate her spit in my dinner. :D:D

And exactly what does that do. If you post that you caught your bus, and i would inform you that most bus drivers no not wait and i believe you infact missed your bus.. Exactly how would that be useful?

Yea, so you dont believe something extremely simple and standard. And so decide to troll?

I've not said anything idotic, things are taken out of context, and basially are a matter of opinion polarised viewpoints each is no more idiotic than the other. But mainly i have not lied on this forum, can you prove that i have?

ID'ing is mandatory in the States now, regardless of age :)
Just one of those things, hardly something to get upset about.

For instance, a liquor store has to ID EVERYONE, if ABC come in and find out they haven't, they can get huge fines.

I got caught out a couple times over here running out at halftime for some more beers, grabbing a $20 and not my wallet and then getting ID'd - bigtime fail.

Somewhat annoyingly, subsequently I've yet to be asked for ID in either pubs or supermarkets despite having ID on me :p

Was in Vegas a few weeks ago and didn't get ID'd in any Bar/Restaurant while we were there, wasn't ID'd in Florida the year before either (am 34 and don't look any older than I should!).

common sense and intelligence are on the down, it's the latest thing, i still sometimes get ID'd for booze, despite being 28

I'm 52, I get asked for ID and it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
If it's shop policy then so be it because as far as the staff know I could actually be there to spy on them (not Spie).
