My corsa feels quite nippy in first and 2nd but as soon as i get upto 3rd gear power just seems to disappear. Iv heard about people getting a ecu chip, ecu remap or something what will bring it up from 57hp to 90-100hp. Anyone got anymore info on this or where to get it done? the car is standard apart from the wheel trims.
Thanks

A remap on that car will give you an extra 3bhp if you are lucky. Dont buy anything from Ebay.

Just save the money for your next car :)

Don't listen to the haters, get an induction kit, some lightweight alloys and a big sports exhaust and you'll keep up with an M6 in 1st and 2nd.

Guys you are clearly overlooking the fact this corsa is the breeze model, well known for reaching over 100bhp. You'll be shocked as it breezes past you rapidly. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Haha! My little 1 litre corsa was 230ish bhp :). Cost me about 4 grand but meh!

Granted I did put a cat back exhaust, new air intake, cams ect. Oh yeh and a calibra engine :) hehe

Andrew Varey managed to get 160 bhp out a similar engine in a 1l nova many moons ago albeit with the addition of a turbocharger and many thousands of pounds and man hours

Your a remap will offer no noticeable gain in power buy one with a bigger engine or drop a bigger engine in which is a piece of pee on the corsas

cheers for the help! mixed answers is always good. i dont want to spend a massive amount of money on it. Then again i did find a kit for it which allows a turbo to be added but that will end up destroying my insurance.

this was a serious thread as i cant find anything on google. I have seen 1.0l corsa breezes tuned to 120hp without any ecu remapping but they had a good £2k spent on them. As said, i probably be better of getting another car.

Do you not want to beat an M6!

wasnt wanting to spend to much but how much would an induction kit cost? The standard exhaust whats on it is 3 pipes into 1, That surely would be costing me power. Maybe 3 straight tubes out of the engine and straight through to the back?
