ride like they have nothing to live for ?
I've been commuting into North London for the last few weeks and the stuff I've seen bikers do has really amazed me. They seem to have no idea or couldn't careless about the highway code. I know it's not just the bikers, you get them drivers cars too but the shear percentage of bikers I see doing this. I've seen them veering down the road, speeding, swerving between traffic, riding down the wrong side of the road, riding through red lights and overtaking while the car in front is trying to let another car out - this nearly ends in the bikes riding straight into the cars bonnet as it cuts across the lane to make a right turn.
I've also seen all these adverts recently that say "think bike !" that's aimed at car drivers, from what I've seen these are aimed at the wrong people. Car drivers don't care about bikes, they're bigger, the worst they'll get is a dent. The bikers though are likely to get squished and from what I've seen it's usually the bike performing an illegal manoeuvre or overtaking which is done at their own risk anyway.
What makes it worse they seem to think they're in the right, although could have been a one off incident. I had one biker moan earlier in the week, my dad stopped at a pedestrian crossing when the lights turned red, a moped driving down the wrong side of the road stops at the lights to the right of the car. As they turn green my dad pulls away faster than the bike, as the bike catches up a bike following it looks in the window and says "how big does he feel for trying to race a moped off the lights", he wasn't but it meant the moped was stuck on the wrong side of the road with on coming traffic. At which point I told him to **** off and to get on the right side of the ****ing road.
What I can't understand is why they ride so recklessly knowing they're so fragile through car drivers who half the time don't see them, if it was me I'd be ****ting my self ?
