Hi guys, I'm not going to bother with my pc for gaming any longer for obvious reasons. I am going to get either an x-box or ps3 instead. Which one would you recommend?

Well if you haven't delved into either yet. I would recommend buying an Xbox 360 first as the price of the console is a steal now and you'll have more games to play than you'll know what to do with, and cheaply! :)

PS3 for me, more stable console. I've had a PS3 since release virtually and not had a problem with it since. My brother on the other hand has had an xbox since release, he's on his 4th xbox and counting now (due to rrod). I did however buy an Xbox for Halo: reach and many other exclusive titles (forza 3, crackdown, fable 2, halo 3) and wasnt let down. You cant go wrong either way.

Use the search function questions been asked many times, also look at what game you want to play, if you want blue ray, if you want free online, controller free gaming with kinect etc etc. I will say though dont get a 4Gb 360 though spend the extra to get a 250Gb 360 S. In an ideal world you would have all the home consoles so not to miss out on any exclusives.

What's the deal with the hard drives anyway? why would I need 250gb? Do the games get installed on the hard drive instead of just putting the disk in all the time?

A big hard drive for an xbox is a good idea as you get a choice to install your games to help with smoother game play and loading times. On ps3 it isn't that necessary unless you want to store music and films on it, you don't really get a choice to install games to ps3, though some (not many) require an install.

But won't you have to download the games off windows live or something because you won't be able to copy a cd onto it would you?

It copies the disk to the hard drive but you still need the DVD in the drive for obvious reasons. ;)

you can install the games straight from the dvd on the 360 (you still need the disc in the tray though)

but OT, buy whichever console the majority of your friends own (MP), or get both.. theres not a great difference between them apart from exclusives.

Isn't this what a forum is for? A discussion?
Its like me going into the Graphics card forum and asking if I should get an AMD GPU or a nVidia GPU...

Why dont you give us an idea of what you like or what you want to do with it...

In reply to your inane request - I like turtles ;)
