CGTs are fail. Having spent quite a lot of time in one I can't understand the love :(

Im curious, where is the fail?

I just been looking at Arnage's which is the only other Bentley i fancy, but then i think even with the better gearbox and the updates on the 2006 onwards cars they are old and just dont drive as well.

So whats left, im never having another Aston Martin as long as iv got a hole in my bum, i cant be breaking my back getting in a Ferrari, plus they just aint comfortable, theres nothing else out there i fancy.

Off topic but what is the story with Aston Martin?

They have always been my ultimate dream car... not that they will ever be anything but a dream :p

An 8 grand gearbox in one and numerous electrical break downs in the other that i had :(

How did it all go with the Maserati or is that old hat now?

Get one of those Bowler things they had on Top Gear, 0-60 in something like 3 seconds over any terrain. Have some fun with those big fields of yours!

Me son ended up with the Maserati despite moaning every day about the petrol :)

Not a bad step up from the 320i, take it that's being sold by him as the new car sales venture?

When do you 'open'?

End of this month, but this is also busy season for diamonds and me shops so its down to him to get on top of the cars. The credit licences have been a pain as are trade plates both taking a long time.

Trade plates are a real pain because it means transporting anything untaxed because i cant be bothered with fines up the arse driving anything untaxed. Everything has to be so above board now not like the old days.

What cars do you feel are better? I cannot think of a single car which is better than as a CGT/GTC/CFS as a daily. <3 :)

Your rented E60 LCI is far better yes?

Wow, that response was useful. Where did I mention my car? Oh wait, I didn't.

The CGT doesn't scratch my back like the CL65 AMG does which, in my opinion is a nicer place to be and a far better car all round.

Also, why does my renting bother you so much? Petty comment is petty :p

The CL55 AMG and a GT are completely different cars for completely different markets. I doubt that a CL would even appear as a blip on the radar of someone who was looking to buy a GT. A

There is a reason that the GT has in it's few years of production has sold out every other previous bentley put together. Some people will moan and not call it a real Bentley, or say that it's got a bad image, or is a big VW or something silly, but it's just the evolution of the brand. People will moan that they aren't "proper" Bentleys, but no onee other than the Sultan of Bunei actually bought those "proper" Bentleys. In a few years the GT has given the brand a completely new image and brought the "Bentley" name to a lot more customers.

Like them or hate them, you cannot deny that the interior is simply brilliant, the ride is impressive and it's got plenty of performance considering it's bulk. The people who have the money to buy them tend to love them, they sell well and really that is all that matters

Haters gonna hate.

Mark,

You said you cannot think of anything you'd rather have, yet you raved so much about Porkas in the other thread? :)

I disagree.

Both are large, comfortable, impeccably built and very well appointed waft-omatic imposing Coupes.

The CL63 AMG (They've not done a CL55 for years) delivers 517bhp. The CL65 delivers 621bhp.

The Bentley Continental GT delivers 550bhp. The Conti GT speed delivers 600bhp.

The CL63 AMG costs £108,000, the CL65 AMG costs £156,000.

The Conti GT costs £124,000, the Conti GT Speed costs £142,000.

I fail to see whats not comparable. They both seem to serve the same market with the same needs and wants and even cost the same price - with the Conti GT being a bit more than the CL63, but the CL65 being a bit more than the Conti GT Speed.

How are they completely different? In essense they are both 500-600bhp uber-luxo ultra fast mega-coupes. An S Class Mercedes and a Ford Transit are completely different. A Conti GT and a CL are... not.

I agree that they both have a slightly different image and one is more prestigous than the other. But the same is true about an A4 and a C Class and nobody would argue they are not in the same class.
