Europe to be a Muslim majority in our lifetime?

I was sent a video this morning which did make me think (although I didn't agree with the final premise of what should be done to stop it happening).

Basically, it states that many European countries will be muslim majorities within our lifetime and some within a coupld of decades.

The basic premise is that non muslim birth rate has fallen below what is beleived to be a birthrate needed to sustain a civilisation whereas the Muslim birthrate far exceeds it. Hence much of Europes growth is down to Muslim immigrants and their higher birthrate.

90% of European growth comes from Islamic immigration..


In Southern France, there are more mosques than churches, that 30% of children under 20 are Muslim, in the larger cities, 45% of children under 20 are Muslim, and that by 2027 20% of the French will be Muslim.


In the urban centers, the proportion of Muslim youth is very high, going up to 40%-50%.


In the last 30 years, Muslim population in UK rose from 82,000 to 2.5 million.


In the Netherlands - 50% of all newborns are Muslim and by 2024 half the population will be Muslim..


In Russia, 20% of the population is Muslim, and 40% of the Russian army will soon be Muslim.


In Belgium 50% of newborns are Muslim, 25% of the population are Muslim also.


According to the Belgian government, a third of children born in the EU in 2025 will be Muslim and according to the German government, Germany will be a Muslim state in 2050. The German government expects there to be 104 million Muslims in Europe within the next 20 years.

I did check a few facts and it would indeed appear that Netherlands will be the first Western European country to have a muslim majority.

So if true, you can see that quite a few countries will become muslim states eventually. So how would you feel about this? Would it bother you?

This should be the case in England. CoE Churches are all empty and a big wasta' space. At least Mosques actually get used for their intended purpose, rather than remain empty for 351 days a year, apart from some rubbish boring church service that three 82 year olds attend, and the occasionally Christening which 9 people bother to attend ..

I frankly don't give a monkeys what religion people are as long as they don't try and foister it upon me. In the whole of my life, no Muslim has ever tried to foister their religion on me. SHED-LOADS of Christians have all the blimin' time :(

No. Also I want to see the sources of some of the figures stated such as:

"according to the German government, Germany will be a Muslim state in 2050. " Who in the German Government said that? What stats did they use?

"In the Netherlands - 50% of all newborns are Muslim and by 2024 half the population will be Muslim.." Again, according to which stats/reports.

"90% of European growth comes from Islamic immigration.." Which report or collaboration of reports give this figure?
 
I have noticed that muslims seem to be the only religion that treats the religion itself as a "name". I'm English, i'm Welsh, I'm French, I'm American, I'm Muslim...

Then they refer to themselves as "country" muslims, "Muslim Council of Britain", etc.

Do they view there religion as above their country?

Probably. Most Christians I meet treat their relationship with their god as more important than their nationality. And just about every other religion I can think of. What's your point?

Every country has minorities be they migrants from another country or just a different ethnicity within the same country. Afaik uk muslim population is only around 3%:). Op if people like you are so worried about muslim migration in europe which are mainly from middleeast or north africa, then I suggest they should also migrate to middle east ;).

If talking purely from religious perspective, then muslims are mainly living in EU as migrant citizens whereas armies deemed from 'christian' countries like US and UK have huge control of middle east powerwise;).
 
Without watching the video the one bit in the OP that's true is birth rate differences, but I'm not sure how much muslims outweigh say benefits class non-muslim families.

The average birth rate for the majority of british families is around 2, and has hovered around 2 for quite a while. Obviously if that's the average of people who do have children (not including those who don't have any) then the net effect is a reduction of the population, 2 parents -> 2 children with the trend brought down by those who don't have any.

Any section of british society which has an average birth rate of more than 2 per family is going to move ahead in terms of population growth. But at a very very slow rate, because they're such a small minority to start with, and with something as undetermined as religion there isn't anything to say that all of those children born to muslim parents will be practicing muslims themselves or raise their own children as muslims
