Play footy with a girl? yes or not? Why?

1).. she wants to play seeing how you lot play, if she's willing to ask to play she's willing to take what comes. Don't be a TWIT and target her. Ask her if she's okay with just playing normally or does she want it to be taken easy on her a bit... simple, stop fussing around like pansies!

I'd argue that these are true for me:

1) Yup. But expect the full brunt of the tackling. your choice ..

Sexual equality must in every thing at every time, all the way. Otherwise it isn't equality.

4) No, because I'm worried you will get hurt by me during a tackle and then I'll feel bad and you'll be hurt, so I can't play my normal game the whole of the time you are on the pitch...

Three bits to this for me:

i) I'd feel bad if I injured anyone during a game, so her sex doesn't matter there.
ii) Similarly to the point below, I risk being viewed much more badly for injuring a woman on the pitch than for injuring a man on the pitch.
iii) I might personally feel worse injuring a woman. I am sure that I shouldn't and I think that I wouldn't, but I'm not immune to social conditioning.

5) Nope because its a physical game and if I press against you to mark you (as in stop you moving where you want to, footy players would understand), I risk being unfairly labelled as some kind of perv.

True.

So I'd think that she should be allowed to play because of my position on sexual equality, which I am a fanatic about, but there's a genuine risk to me. I might decide to stop playing myself as a result, to protect myself. It would depend on what I thought about all the people involved.

1.
I've even played a business league game against a team that had a girl in it.

The company that I work started an annual five a side tournament a few years back (it's a big employer spread over the country, so there are plenty of teams).

For the first three years, our women's team spanked every other women's team. Utter walkover almost every match. Goal a minute in some games.

Their secret was that they trained with the men's team and sometimes played against them during training.

Yeah many moons ago used to have a couple of girls play with us quite regular (they were nice enough girls) but **** me they were good, we started out with the attitude they can play and we'll take it easy, that lasted until we got skinned the first couple of times.

I'm sure they ended up playing for the England girls youth or something similar :(

Number 1, well i would say that but then be nice if the ball came to her. If she was on my team i would make sure she never got the ball. :D Leave her up top as a lone striker.

[edit]typo in title .. meant 'yes or no'. Me =retard[/edit]

I play football, friendly game, with a load of lads each Sunday. It's quite a rough and tumble 'take the edge off the week' game ..

The other day one of the lads girlfriends asked if she could play, and we had a bit of a vote with reasoning.

It was a close thing and we had a bit of a discussion.. out of interest, which would you vote for out of all the reasons my mates gave for their answer ..?

1) Yup. But expect the full brunt of the tackling. your choice ..
2) Yup. We won't actually tackle you hard or anything because you're a girl.
3) No, because you may be better than some of us and that is embarrassing
4) No, because I'm worried you will get hurt by me during a tackle and then I'll feel bad and you'll be hurt, so I can't play my normal game the whole of the time you are on the pitch...
5) Nope because its a physical game and if I press against you to mark you (as in stop you moving where you want to, footy players would understand), I risk being unfairly labelled as some kind of perv.
6) Nope, I'm not sure why, it's just not the 'done' thing.
7) Some other reason, I'll state below (undoubtably involving you sh**ging her in the showers afterwards or something  )
8) The rather lame answer, pancake.

??

Which would you vote for with reasoning?

All that over a girl wanting to play football with you?

Justplayandshutup/10

Don't see any reason why not. Although I always remember while at school playing hockey with the girls and getting taken out big style all of the time.

I'm picturing the fact she asked you guys whether she could play Football with you, and you guys pause for 5 seconds and huddle up to make some group discussion over it whilst she stares and waits anxiously on her one for your reply. Just let the girl play and take it easy on her.

last girl i played football with shouldered me in the gob.

Is she tall or are you short?

I play every week in a mixed league, makes the social side even more fun.

Well soccer is a game for girls in the States or so the attitude goes is it not?

Of the options above I'd probably go with 1) or 2) - however if the teams were always full regardless then it'd be the same no as to anyone else, there seems little point in making other people sit out just to add someone new in. She'll probably be better than me at football though but that's neither here nor there.

My mates wife plays football with us in the summer when we all go down the park, the tackling can sometimes be fairly rough but she's quite a tough girl so we treat her like one of the lads..............even if she does have a mahoosive rack.

Depends on the woman in question in my opinion.
