FAO Dons or Admins.

Just 7 rule breaks...it could be the same one 7 times, one 3 times and another 4 times, or 3 twice and a forth once, the variation is endless.

I find it mildly amusing that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of users who use the MM regularly without problem, yet when someone does break a rule and gets their access removed, there is suddenly a problem with the rules :).

The MM rules have always been explicitly clear. I know if I screw up out of my own ignorance, I will be banned. Simples.

No problem, and definitely no changes needed.

That doesn't sound right to me. Just because a lot of people are not affected by the rules doesn't mean that they are good.

Also, this thread seems more about the punishment of breaking the rules, not the rules themselves

this, it's not hard to quickly re-read the rules every now and again when making a deal or buying something

And we do review the rules to make sure they are all still relevant. However, the MM Dons are best to judge what is and is not still relevant.

I have had a couple of dealings with MM dons today, must say the guys have been great and responded well to my mutterings.

As always with forums the community make them, the community have to feel that fairness is being applied and if so then the community can have nothing to feel agrieved about. As said previously you don't pay for them so you cannot complain if they don't meet your requirements, but there should be fair and open equality between forum members.

I made an error and assumed that as there were a fair few posts on the MM that a rule was not being applied, I assumed wrong :(
The thing that still feels wrong is that there are still posts that breach said rule on there, so there people will have got away with something others haven't.
I think a recent promotion (well two in fact) have forced an issue much more to the surface and this is the issue thats caused inequality in the MM doning of a certain issue.
One thing that got me is that a MM Don posted in another thread about it not meeting rule x.x and ignored another breach of rules, the one they ignored was the exact rule I broke today and got an infraction for. (Was same Don actually who did both cases)

They have to their credit both advised me they are looking at it though so a possible rule change and also a clarified FAQ will also be posted asap. They do a time consuming job for free so all credit to them, these forums need them so hats off to the guys. They will make the odd dubious decision but unless you are completely out of order you shouldnt see any massive issues even ifyou do pick up an infraction.

No matter how much I argue the fact that they were never pointed out or a warning issued, you Dons and Admins are always going to have an answer. Please close thread, Burnsy has made it clear that my request is not even going to be considered.

I think this thread has progressed to talk about wider MM issues, so I'll leave it open for a bit longer.

At the end of the day, the rules are clearly at the top of every MM forum. If you had read them you wouldn't be in this position.

You could screen shot your infraction screen?

Were you not suspended after the first rule break and then again after the others??! That should surely be warning enough.

This isn't just about you though as has already been said further up.

Burnsy - How does it work with Mods crossing over into other areas and making rash decisions to ban people? (a mod on the forum but not for that particular sub forum)

Should it not be that the Dons responsible for that sub section and therefore know what goes on in those sections be the ones to decide if someone is banned or not?

My latest bannage for instance, the Don in particular came into the thread and decided without reading through that I was trolling and I was banned immedietely.

This knackered several MM deals I was looking at and also a deal that luckily didn't go before I was unbanned.

Like above, I am not the only person with issues regarding the moderation of this forum either. That said i have had to e-mail burnsy myself, its obviously to difficult for him to e-mail me as I requested.

Wow. It's almost like the moderation team don't get paid or something, I'd send an email to their boss and get them all sacked for not meeting the whim of one forum user!

Oh, wait.
