My New Car is a SRI 1.6 Turbo 180 bhp

I wasn't aware of the new rules, I apologise for posting a response which may have come across as a troll post. Sorry.
 
This is pretty much the same engine as the Corsa VXR, 2010 minor revisions aside. The VXR engine makes 190bhp and remaps to ~220bhp if you're brave enough - I imagine the same is true for this engine, as the 150bhp Corsa SRi also remapped to around 220bhp.

I'm not sure what to make of the new Astra, I drove the NA 1.6, and I wasn't impressed at all, although it is a large improvement over the previous Astra. Ridiculous 19" wheels on such a car doesn't help though.

A serious question to the OP though - why did you choose the Astra? What did you like about it over the Focus/Golf etc?

And what were your reasons for buying brand new? I'm guessing it was because there are pretty much no new Astra's on the used car market and the ones that are are as expensive as the new ones?
 
What a brilliant piece of engineering, love how it looks, everything! Great value for the money as well, can't think of anything else I'd want at that price point. Nice one!

No i own 2 properties sadly got 1 of the homes for free my grand parents died and i was the sole beneficiary in mkt weighton . i rent it out through a leasing agents and get £900 pcm after fees . which i get and the other i bought and paid for in 1989 for the grand sum of £8 k x council house but i own them both out right not bad for 41 years of age both house are worth just over 345k Im a taxi driver in hull and own a diesel passat 05 plate with a tad over 150k on the clock but this is my car for fun and for the mrs to drive about in

You need 3 more bits of rental property, start now so you get them knocked in by 65 when you retire and sit back with feet up :)

you could have bought a scania truck for that or a tractor (or is that the same thing?)

next time ask here before you waste your money on something totally unsuitable
 
If you don't know what you like and want in a car, you can actually afford, by the time you're 41 you never will ;)

Saying that I'm probably in the never will camp, so I'm just jealous that the op got a car he likes :(
