Subaru have unveiled the impreza concept today. Liking it a lot, much more interesting looking and a more upmarket look to it.

edit: bah images too big sorry

Front end Mondeo, rear end is some weird Mondeo/E90 hybrid :p Looks too big, the Impreza was never a particularly big car.

On second looks it does look a bit mondeoish and a bit volvoish from the front. Hmm, I reckon it might look really good with some styling changes and the typical brash scoob bodykit.

Another new car, another plethora of 'looks like an XYZ' responses.

When are people going to realise that a car carries with it certain design contraints? It must have headlights, back lights, doors and wheels. Therefore it's hardly suprising when, if you squint, it looks a bit like another car.

Woah sorry for having an opinion.

Yeah, cos a Gallardo looks dead like a VW Sharan in a certain light when you squint ;) :p

This isn't about us squinting and seeing a slight similarity though is it?!?!?!? It really does look like a mondeo. Just smaller. With a bit of an e90 look to the back end and maybe even a touch of volvo...:p ;)

That said it does look like a Mondeo ;)

Although I agree can you not see how it looks like a small evolution on a Mondeo, and totally different to how the old Impreza's looked?

I'll elaborate then. The silver grills on the front along with the angular styling look like an American ford Saloon such as the 2011 Fusion.

It's a Japanese saloon and looks like an American Saloon. In the past the two could easily be distinguished, in this case it looks very American market, not Japan.

Therefore, it looks like a Mondeo (to us).

I think the new Impreza model should still have the big spoiler on the back. It does look a bit bland without it. The front reminds me of a Mazda 6, and the car just looks too sensible. They've probably chosen this design as it appeals more so to the older generation.

EDIT: From the side profile view, front looks a bit Audi-Ish, Mazda 6-ish lights, Rear reminds me of the Vauxhall Insignia.

Do you know what an Impreza is?

It's a mid sized normal everyday saloon car. Most of them are quite plain and sensible looking.
