The rear sits deep into the travel. Very plush. It jumps well, goes where you point it, holds its line through rock gardens. It's spot on for a DH noob like me.

in fact thinking about it - rather than invest £250/£300 on a new frame and wheels I would probably be better buying a new bike??

I could probably get £100/£150 for bits and piece on my bike and then spend the £300 or so i was going to spend on wheels/frame towards a new bike. By the time i messed about trying to change everything from my old bike to a new frame no doubt I would end up spending more on various bits and pieces!!

There is some excellent bikes about for around £600 or so at the moment from a quick look round.

with 20% off and another code i found takes this down to £610!

Also the boardman range seem to get an excellent write up as well.

better off with this

Very nice Weescott ;)

Took a much needed trip up to N.Wales last week (Sat-Wed), mainly to get some riding in before it gets (very) wet here in Wales, and to break in my new baby :D

The Forumla brakes (RX's) weren't up to much :( New rotors (Superstar) and Sintered pads (the one's they came with) didn't seem to want to bed in much, they did improve though.
Have a new set of Organic pad's that I had to get as an emergency pair for the trip, I may stick them in when I wash her tomorrow and see how they go.

If bike mags reviewed every Specialized product then that would be at least 2 reviews a month. I would have thought they at least mention the new line though.

Maybe they were too busy modeling the latest Beanie...oh wait that's MBUK. :p

Very annoyed, bidding on a frame I wanted on ebay earlier. I tried to sneak a last second bid but lots of other people did too, I was no where near. It went for a lot more than I was willing to pay, hoping I can get it through my sponsor for less...

First time out on the bike today (nice day for it as well)... First time in about 20 years I have been on any bike :o

Felt quite weird to begin with but getting used to it. Just a quick 10 miler on a cycle path and some (bloody steep) back roads round where I live to get used to being on 2 wheels again.

Trying to walk down stairs is fun now that my thighs are all jelly :D due to the really hilly back roads and me not being used to cycling as I am normally a runner.

Managed (according to RunKeeper) to hit 26.5mph on a steep downhill section which, when you aint used to a bike and the back road was all potholes and covered in loose gravel, was... interesting :o:eek: (I dare say I will get used to it :))

I will get out as much as poss on the bike now. Don't plan on being a fair weather biker but wanted my first ride in the dry just to get used to it again...

Sound sgood, you will be speeding down, and perhaps up mountains before you know it.
Glad you had a good day.

I did a 50km loop of Bath in the Rain and MUD. At this rate I dont think my bike will last to long.
