Irmsher or "aftermarket" grille

Yea its true they wouldnt let me get my Bentley bonnet vents or Jag grille :( :D

Op, get some pics up of the sprayed part. DIY type mods and such like are looked upon favourably as they do show some thought and cost peanuts.

As you can see many people rubbish the idea of nearly 200 for a plastic grill and quite rightly. The joy of motors is the diverse group of people, tastes, budgets and the overwhelming need to be as honest as possible.

Screw the comments on snobbery, use mrlol as an example. He drives some old Volvo, hardly a boasting investment banker with a veyron and an ego to match.

Viv la motors!

How many owner's clubs do you know of who don't partake in back slapping, brown nosing or have a blatantly obvious "In crowd" elite?

we aren't an owners club either ;)

Pistonheads is the biggest motoring forum that isnt mark specific in the UK i think, and their opinions are mostly the same when it comes to this sort of stuff.

But they have a "in crowd" and quite a lot of back slapping...

Have you read a thread regarding a MX5 there lately? :o

I dont even like PH any more, the interesting sections are filled with nit pickers.

Telling someone it's wrong is fine. I couldnt care for peoples opinions on this grille, DRZ, thats not the issue. But to say that this place is not the place to ask such questions is pure crap. Nobody should be excluded, to think they should be is pure arrogance.

The op is now not going to spend out all that money, so the thread is a success, surely?
To not have threads like this posted the op might have wasted their money.

Ha ! dont make me laugh.

The oppinion was the same when it came to modifying mark's bentley.

This forum just doesnt advocate wasting your money on cheap stick on tat.

the opinion on the grille isn't my point, it's iand's post.

its not arrogance, just informing him that if he's looking to be lied to and given a load of back slapping and "yeah mate, will look wikkid" this isn't the place to look for it.

If the OP was looking for honest opinions about whether fitting such a thing is a bad idea, this is absolutely the place to ask, you wont get many other forums who are so honest.

Ianid's post was more telling him that he wont get people lieing and back slapping him here, not that he's not allowed to ask such things here because they are beneath us or something.

Am I writing in dutch or something?
You have just disagreed then agreed with me.

I am saying that iand's post saying that this sort of thing should not be posted here is wrong, which you agree with.

no your misunderstanding what he's saying

He's not saying that answering such questions is beneath us (or anything else arrogant), he's just pointing out that he won't get the back slapping and "yeah mate wikkid" replies he's possibly looking for. He won't get them on pistonheads.co.uk either

If he wants that http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/forum.php

Why say this isn't the place to ask about this then?
The op stated that he was wary of this place at the start :p

Also, he doesn't have a C does he?

He was wary because he knew he was going to get told it was pointless and not to do it

but he's not interested in honest opinions, he wants a bit of back slapping and lieing instead with people pretending its a good idea.

Also, corsa-c.co.uk caters for Corsa D owners as well ;)

No, people can post what they want - but if it's turning into the sort of place where this is the type of discussion then I'm not interested in sticking around for much longer

I come here because of the (mostly) intelligent discussion, free from chavvy mods by people who type in txt spk. It's the sort of place where geeky discussions and ruthless banter are the bread and butter - that's what I like, that's why I come here.

If i wanted to talk about stick on tat where everyone is a mindless sheep who thinks everything is great, I'd be on one of the many forums where that's the way things go.

The reason Ive been around here for longer than any other forum Ive been on is because the sort of reaction this sort of post normally gets echos my view - try telling someone not to attach cheap rubbish to their shopping trolley on some forums and you'll be hated very quickly.

Ps, its iaind.

For one, I don't want any position of authority here. Two, they wouldn't want me. It would be met with less enthusiasm than fox getting moh :p
What is wrong with saying that all posts should be welcome? Do you disagree that these threads should be allowed?

Iand, no one is saying this place needs to be full of sheep, the thread from maccy wasn't saying it should be either.

All posts are welcome, of course, but I dislike it that people don't want an honest opinion. Look at the way this thread went - someone gave him an honest opinion and the OP had a proper paddy, referred to the "small announcement" thread and said that the thread had to go his way so as not to upset him.

He said "which grille" and someone said "neither" - don't you agree that open discussion should be encouraged? If it wasn't for that stickied thread, do you think the OP would have had such a tantrum?

I'm just going to leave this here and run away...
