I don't think anyone is saying that these threads shouldn't be allowed.

What we are saying that when people do post such threads we are allowed to point our points across without getting the "If you haven't got anything nice to say keep it to yourself" rubbish.

Janesy's post was a good case in point actually - look at the abuse he got when he did that! Did he have a tantrum and go running to passionford for a good back slapping?

Im half tempted to give him some more abuse now

I don't even get the bloody point of this thread? Why even ask about something as subjective as a grille, either you like it or you don't. Why post it and then get upset because most people don't like it. The OP asked an opinion, got it and is now crying into his Cheerios. Tough.

I still get a fair old bit of stick, I just take it on the chin, I did it because I wanted to.

Exactly, the whole point is to get some compliments and attention, not any real opinions.

We've had threads like this for ages, I just resent the OPs sentiment that anyone not giving him praise should be banned under the new rules. As I said, if that's what the new rules are going to mean, I'm off to find a nice honda forum to make myself comfortable in

But he has rejected any advice other than what he wanted to hear, which begs the question, why bother?

Just do it, if you like it and it doesn't look crap then job's a goodun. Why can't people make their own mind up without having to seek appraisal from an internet forum and then getting the arse because they're not told what they want to hear.

The OP in this case referenced the sticky on top of the forum and used it to effectively put his fingers in his ears and scream "I'M NOT LISTENING".

That sort of thing is going to kill the forum.

This is just it, not the original post nor the outcome were the problem. It was just him trying to use the sticky to get rid of the opinions he doesn't like that annoyed me

Same principle still applies

They can ask all they want, but if they are looking for purchasing advice on stick on tat they are wasting their time as everybody will tell them not to bother.

If thats not the purchasing advice they want (as is the case with this OP) best looking elsewhere because thats the opinion most of us hold here.

Prime example was mark, who came and asked for advice between two, most said not to bother. And he didnt bother.

OP however is refusing to listen.
