I'd love a 70's XJ6. They were complete dogs and rusted to death but I love the shape of them so much. They must be a pretty rare care these days, can't remember when I last saw one.

Love the white one on the main page. Sorry don't know the name.

I also have thing for the s-type, but can never find the one with the rear bumper I like. Iam sure it has a mesh area.

2005 onwards Sport or XS have the mesh rear bumper :)

That Ferrari ad is great

"Dick Lovett" what an awesome name and I want to know how much a Tubi exhaust is for one of those if its better than whatever is supplied as standard I imagine its a few £££

DiamondMark, what do you think of the new XJ? Saw 1 of these on the A40 into work and boy does the thing have a big fat arse.

I had one for a day when they first came out and just couldnt stand the way it looked outside.

Fantastic inside and drove great, but not for me.

Then i thought i'd have another go last week and phoned them again, they said all i could have was a diesel again because there are no petrol demonstrators, so i duffed that.

All in i suppose in 3 years they will be a great value second hand buy if you can find a petrol.

Im a bit gutted Jag have gone so diesel orientated to be honest, but i suppose they have to make what sells.

Have you any idea on the costings involved?

Anything to look out for?

What costs exactly do you want to know?

Roughly the worst service is 500 quid the cheapest is 200 quid.

Use a good specialist dont go near a main dealer, the best 2 i have found are Les Paul in Essex and Surrey Jag in Croydon.

Make sure it drives quietly no noise from the suspension, the suspension does wear out on these and is a grand to refresh.

Buy a car 2002 onwards, preferably 2004 onwards but importantly after 2002.

Reliable cars drive great, dont buy a 2.5 same costs as a 3 litre.

The 4.2 is a lovely drive and the R is just fast as **** but with brembo brakes that are dear to sort out.

I love them but not as much as XJ's :)

Last time I was at the Jaguar garage I was told by one of the guys that worked there that someone brought the new XJ traded in his old XJ and hated the new one. I think they have lost that classic XJ style which even the previous model managed to keep. :(
