New Audi RS3 Pictures

The RS5 is getting quite a bad rap it seems. Only 3 out of 5 and last place in this months evo.

The RS4 was the last properly good one it seems.
The TTRS is pretty good!

Iirc the TT RS was criticised for being understeery and inert. I don't think its anywhere near as good as an RS4 even with the dodgy DRC suspension.

Is the huge whale like RS6 monster still in production? Drove (and almost bought) the old style one and it went like a rocket.

Meh. Looks the part though

AFAIK the RS6 is still in production. They only used to do one RS at a time, but I guess they sold out.

Best bit about this car is that it must be one of the only cars ever to have wider front tyres than the rear.

An extract from the press release:

The new range-topping model in the A3 series boasts 19-inch cast aluminum wheels fitted with 235/35 series tires at the front and 225/35 at the rear. The wheels come standard with machine-polished titanium-look styling, but are optionally available in black with a red rim flange

bizarre car. no 3 door etc. I'm sure it goes like stink however. Not my cup of char.

I'm guessing the lack of torsen 4wd system is due to the engine being transverse, not longitudinal like bigger audi's? You find the haldex on golfs and other VAG stuff too i think.

Its still a mechanical 4wd system tho, just not full-time in that the rear axle has an electronic clutch which disengages itself when not needed. and its the "not needed" which gets people to say its not as good. i.e. if you dont engage it, until its "needed" or "detected" maybe its too late? it also disengages automatically when DSC is helping out or when ABS is required AFAIK. Kinda limited tbh, but i'm sure it doesnt really make much difference to the vast majority who will buy this car.

I amazed they are doing this, this car is already well overdue for replacement not yet more tarting up.

Agree with you 100% on this.

Huge disappointment, you'd have to be mad to spend £40k on one.

Exactly what I was thinking the car is a generation behind already.

One thing is that engine is superb I have driven a TT RS and the engine is what stands out. It has huge amounts of torque at pretty much any revs and when you are pushing on will pull to the rev limiter with no drop off. It also responds well to a remap allowing 420bhp/420lbft.
