I had two (2) Dell 2408wfpbs on my desktop

One got vertical lines and dell replaced it with a new U2410

Since, The other 2408 has gone and they are about to swap it for another new 2410

Am i getting a upgrade?

Yes you are - to the latest of the range.

How old was your monitor and how much warranty was remaining?

Lucky for you, I heard they tend to send out refurbs rather than brand new 24"'s.

Dell replaced it with a U2410? Wow!

Yes, the U2410 is definitely an upgrade to the 2408WFP.

my 2408 seemed fine bar i could see some of the pixels, im struggling to see pixels on this u2410.

As long as i got an upgrade and not downgrade from my 2408

Considering the U2410 is £450+ new and the 2408 is £250 ish second hand..

UPGRADE!
+1

You should be really pleased. It's a very good upgrade. I'm surprised they replaced it with a U2410 because I've heard of people receiving replacement 2408WFP monitors recently, even though the monitor is no longer manufactured.

I said to Dell, I bought a pair of 2408 on purpose at a cost of nearly 1000 GBP and i think I have a dropped pixel on the other 2408 now.

Oh well , youll have to have two u2410 replacements.

Dell have done very well but i was wondering if anyone new the actually technical difference between the 2408 lcd and the HIPS u2410

The U2410 is what effectively replaced the 2408WFP. Since the former is no longer available that is obviously how they roll. :)

It isn't certain btw, did a 2408WFP warranty swap and got another refurbished 2408 back. I'd suggest asking for one, saying you need it to match your other U2410! ;)

Just had my 2408 die... Asked for a refurb 2408 but they swaped it for a BRAND NEW U2410! Not a refurb 2410 a NEW ONE... (the driver said so lol)

So im not sure what to do with it... anyone want a new 2410? £300 lol
