Terminator 2

Personal dislike of the word epic, but t2 just screams it.

Guess you kinda had to be there at the time, long hot summer, everything about the soundtrack with guns and roses was the perfect fit, and action stunt sequences that in scale were well above anything seen before.

You add to that Mr Schwarzenegger at the peek of his powers, and the total hype created around the release... it was one of those films that'll allways stick in the mind.

Awesome film. One of my alltime favourites. Endlessly watchable, oozes atmosphere and never seems to drag. One of the ultimate guy movies.

The first one has been my favourite film since the cold dark winter's night in 1985 when I watched it on video at the age of twelve.

I saw T2 at the pictures upon its release and while it was a good film, nothing could compete with the visceral experience of the original. The second film is virtually a kids film in comparison.

If T1 is ever on the telly I simply cannot NOT watch it. I'm indifferent to T2.

Your friends would probably have it right, I agree that it's quality but definitely not approaching 'classic' cinema.

Give over. It's a classic action film. It won several Oscars in the technical categories.

Not every "classic" film has to be incredibly high art.

It is an awesome film. I can remember when I first heard Arnie's Terminator was actually going to be the 'good guy'. Thought it was going to be rubbish but popped along to the cinema anyway. It was money well spent!

Loved the nuclear war premonition/dream + the bit where Sarah shoots up the Cyberdyne guy's house. So many other cool bits but they stand out.

Also loved the GnR 'You could be mine' soundtrack! :)

Where the hell is all this from?

I recognise it is quality and I wouldn't detriment it in any way, but in terms of story structure, writing, and 'groundbreaking' cinema, I consider Die Hard to be above Terminator even in the action genre.

I'm not going to argue any more about it. Go read the release and reception sections of the T2 page on wikipedia. Check its position on the imdb 250. You may not rate it, fine, but that puts you in the minority.

I love the Terminator series.

T1 was brilliant, T2 awesome, T3 a bit of a letdown, Salvation was a good film also.
