Netbook Hard Drive Help

Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade the paltry 160GB hard drive in my HP Mini 311 which seems to need a 2.5" SATA Drive, probably looking for around 500Gb but if a slightly bigger one was available for not much more would buy that, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a good quality drive.

Cheers mate, I did notice the Samsung or the larger 640GB one, will probably just buy one of those as I know the desktop variants were well recommended too!

Possible silly query here but would I notice much difference between a 5400RPM drive and a 7200RPM drive?

Not a great deal, but if they are the same price you may as well (they will use a little bit more power though).

Not known someone to need 500GB+ in a laptop before, nevermind a netbook

I'm going to use it to cut down on having to carry my external HDD around with me all the time for Movies mainly! Looking at a 500 or 640GB Samsung or Western Digital Drive, if the 7200 is going to use more power I think I will just go for the slower on tbh!

Seagate Momentus XT?

Just wondering if anyone is using a Seagate Momentus XT drive in their laptop/netbook? Looking for some thoughts.
