Actor to play Nathan Drake in Uncharted movie is....

But i do like Wahlberg....i think hes a decent enough actor...was brilliant in the Departed i thought and a few other movies hes done in the past but he has done some utter trash ie the Other guys which i thought was pretty dire in all honesty.

cant see this role requiring much acting ability, rather than the role would be far better suited to an actor with some carisma and dry whit, which unfortunately wahlberg fails to possess IMO.

Four days late (I saw this thread at work but forget to reply at home) but there's no actor I know of who would be better than Nathan. I've watched Firefly and Serenity and I know just how good an actor Nathan is. Heck I reckon that Nathan Drake was based on Nathan Fillion. ;)
 
Yeah I know a lot of people wont have heard of Nathan, But that doesn't by any stretch mean he wouldnt be capable of making or breaking this movie. the main actor is pivotal if you ask me. Matrix for example was originally cast for Will Smith, I'm sorry but that movie just wouldnt be the same movie with Will Smith as lead, It needed Keanu reeves, and yes. I hate him in any other movies he's done, but it just works so damn well in Matrix.

I followed Nathan when he was in a comedy called 2 guys and a girl, When he played a part in buffy and when he moved on to movies and firefly. And No one could play the part as Drake as well as him. It is imperative that he does, otherwise the movie just won't be what it could be.

also, I could imagine it could get the cult status Serenity and Firefly got. As he does have a massive Cult SciFi following.

Yeah can imagine that. He's got that sci-fi fanbase that would love to see him in another film. Uncharted would be a film we'd want to see him in.

“This idea really turns me on that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities … [a family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice,” director David O. Russell told the LA Times.
He also called the film a “locomotive,” explaining that the script’s already about half-way done and things are really starting to take shape. You know, in the same way that a toddler’s sculpture of a “boat” that’s actually a blob of Play Doh bifurcated by a popsicle stick “takes shape.”
“We’ll have the family dynamic, which we’ve done in a couple of movies now,” he added. “And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That’s a really cool idea to me.”
And just when you’d gotten over your outrage about Mark Wahlberg hogging Nathan Fillion’s spotlight, too. But hey, Russell’s a big busy director man. Clearly he doesn’t have time for silly frivolities like actually playing the games his movie’s allegedly based on

If you're a Nathan Fillion fan, then yeah. It's definitely different to Firefly/Serenity, but still pretty awesome. I used to watch it a lot when I was younger, can't believe it's 12 years since the first season! I actually watched it back again after Firefly, purely because of Fillion :p
 
ha, never saw the replies in this :p

Yeah its worth watching, its like friends, but on a budget and older. It has Ryan reynolds in it too, and he's pretty funny!
