It's also common sense really. It's bad enough to have to rely on one set of DRM servers to play your game - Steam, but layering another set of DRM on top of that for a single player game means you have to contact two different sets of DRM servers to play your game - doubling your risk that something goes wrong.

Then of course you get games like Batman which have Steam + GFWL + Securom. Three different DRM servers, three points of failure.

Ubisoft's DRM servers were also offline for a couple of hours the other day. There were a lot of users complaining, which is silly really because we'd warned them what they were getting into so it's no use complaining when it goes all wrong.
 
I couldn't get GTA or GTA 2 to run in Vista 64 bit though.

GTA did run, but it was unplayable as the screen kept flickering and the movement was really fast. Shame. GTA2 was also problematic.
 
Heavily reccomend m&b:warband. I think it has been my favourite game I have played this year. I have not even touched the multiplayer, the single player is immensely addictive. I reccomend you head over to the taleworlds forums and download a few mods. In particular I recommend "diplomacy" for generally improving the campaign mode, and there are also some great graphic mods.

Any thoughts on streetfighter? Will I be able to play it with a xbox pad?
 
Well it is up in the FS section if anyone wants a copy of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction for £7.50.
 
Just picked up the orange box, for some reason i'd never gotten round to it before. Tempted to pick up the Warband complete pack too but that'll be the last of the money i'd set by for the sales. Anyone know what's going to be up there tomorrow?

Ach well, that seals it then I'll just grab it now and sneak some more funds into paypal at the end of the week for the xmas sales when the wife ain't looking. Already getting snarky comments for buying 5 games so far and protesting that they're on sale seems to fall on deaf ears. C'est la vie lol.

World of goo is an interesting little game for the price. Picked it up and found it quite hard to put down lol.

So will there be new deals tomorrow or is it the case that today's deals are the final deals that will run up till 6pm tomorrow and then the whole thing ends?

Extrapolating from the fact that one of the lists of special offers put up earlier has been very accurate APART from a handful of titles, I'm guessing that these will be offered for sale tomorrow.
