Hey guys,

I am doing a presentation at work on pre-holiday spending habits and I'm wondering how much the people of OcUK spend! So please, I would be eternally grateful if you could help

Please let me know...

- If you're male or female
- On average how much you tend to spend on new purchases before you go on holiday (can be clothes, electronics, books to read on the beach etc)

Do you tend to spend money on new shirts before a week in Spain for example? Or a camera or a book to read on the beach? And how much on average do you tend to spend on these new purchases before each holiday?

Sorry.. been working all day and maybe not being very clear :)
 
Ahh ok, that's a bit clearer - I think part of my confusion is that I don't really buy new things solely to go on holiday with, so it didn't compute :D

I take stuff I already have an usually things are cheaper elsewhere so I buy stuff when I'm away :p
 
Oh, yeah I have friends who stock up on holiday clothes..!

I will only tend to spend £20-£30 specifically before a holiday though, and that'll only be on things I've run out of or something specific I'm going to need - i.e. sun cream, a bikini, ski socks, a good book or two, or maybe a nice new top for one evening's 'smart wear' during the holiday.

So let's say £25 for me. Am female.
 
If it was on a holiday.

Cloths - none
Music - none
Books - none
Toiletries - £10 (but depends where I'm going)
Medicine - none

Camera equipment (memory card, bag or new lens) - £50-£500

Nah it would be really helpful for me :) ...I just need an idea of how much people tend to spend before they go away/in preparation for a holiday. Will be priceless to meee!
 
I know a lot of people that would stock up on some new kit for a week away.

Personally, if I was heading away to somewhere sunny, I'd be thinking along the following:

New swim shorts: 40 quid
Couple of t-shirts: 60 quid
Toiletries: 15 or so

Something along those lines anyway!
 
Only buy the things I need to take.

On my recent trip to Egypt the only things i bought were upset stomach meds <£1 and some more swim shorts ~£10.
