I sold the car today, bank transfer done, it was collected by a recovery truck this afternoon from what my mate tells me (I am in London now).
Its just occured to me that the purchaser was a bloke called Matt, I did not put 2 & 2 together until re-reading this thread to update.....

Absolutely - I initially stuck it up for £600, realised that its a crap time of year to sell a car, never mind an auto 328i, so chopped it down to £500, a couple of insulting offers later, "Matt" asked if I'd take £400.
I said if he presented me wuth £400, it was his,as I wanted it gone having just bought a potentially HUGE money pit.... not to mention my daughters Christmas "want list" is truly scary!!!
A good mate of mine was far from impressed when he found out what I was going to let it go for, he works for a BMW specialist, and I'm quite sure he could have got a lot more for it.
My word is my bond though.
