...and the sounds of the emergency services coming to remove the remaining pieces from the wall\tree/ditch you end up in after attempting to corner would be a welcome relief

Best thing about V8s into little Mazdas is that you can still keep the weight balance front:rear quite sane. Makes it into a sort of neo-Cobra.
