Glowing mail!

I just received a letter, one of those ones with the adhesive self sealing strip. When I peeled open the strip (in the dark) it gave off a blue glow where the adhesive was separating?

Any ideas on what causes this? Can't see anything in google.. :s

I've had this plenty of times (why I have opened post in the dark, is anyones guess). Not sure on the specific reaction, but have witnessed it a few times.

Not normally but I'd just got home and whilst walking from the lit kitchen, through a dark hallway to give news of said letter, I noticed it glowing.

I did try to re-seal it and do it again but it seems it's a tamper proof thing.

There doesn't seem to be any info on the internet for it which makes it even weirder.

I need to know why!

Google triboluminescent. It happens with some other stuff, like glow in the dark silly putty. I think sello tape gives off x rays too. It isn't a tamper seal though.

Radiation glow, you have probably been contaminated and now have super powers....maybe the ability to read unopened mail or can deliver a giant sack(of mail) in record time.
